Would be terribly embarrassing if we didn't have a baseball team.  Loved to go watch those d00ds mix it up at afternoon games when I was in town.

I've said it before, I'll say it again.  Not other athletic program has been given so much at K-State over the last 5 years than Baseball.  They have new everything.   Hell they just got their dressing room remodeled and the damn thing wasn't but 3 or 4 years old.   They just got all new leather furniture and new flat screens in the players lounge.  They have their own weightroom, the Brandenbery Indoor facility has been totally remodeled inside from top to bottom.  

Oh I know, people come along, "But Dax at Texas they just got new gold platted toilets in their baseball clubhouse, or WSU has more seats and a videoboard, and Nebraska has a heated field that stays green all year long."   All true, but Oregon State just got their baseball stadium remodeled and they won 2 national titles prior, other much more successful schools would kill for facilities like KSU has.  

It would be damn nice if you know . . . K-State baseball, you know, actually did something for a change . . . just once.

Plus I agree . . . many college baseball players are huge douches, but K-State seems to draw a major proportion of douches to its program, it's been that way for years.

WTF thats the problem why we've haven't gone above the peak. Because its fans like you that could care less. You know the baseball team before the Brad Hill era was just like the football program before the LSnyder era. People wondered the same thing for football. Its hard to get recruits to Manhattan especially kids from Texas California Florida etc. So take that into consideration. 

Fans like me want to see us succeed in things that people care about and bring us money. I'm not saying we shouldn't have a baseball team but the money we pour into it is a little ridiculous.  Because of this we have not gone "above and peak" in facilities for the real sports.  The mens and womens basketball teams have to battle for practice time in bramlage, but our lame ass baseball team gets new locker rooms and flat screens just a few short years after they got a new stadium? Come on now, come on.

The only argument to this is if some donor decided to throw his money down the toilet and give it to the baseball program specifically.

I want K-State to do well in Baseball . . . but for years it was always, "well we've got suck ass facilities, and we just can't compete" . . . well, now that excuse is gone, long gone.   You know K-State is the only Big 12 baseball program to NEVER make it to the NCAA postseason??  Yes, even the now defunct baseball programs at Iowa State and Colorado have gone to the NCAA tourney.   How in the F_CK do you play a sport like baseball for over 100 years and not ONCE make the NCAA tourney??  Hell baseball gives 27 shots during conference play (or something like that) and another 20-30 shots in the OOC to build a good enough resume to get an NCAA tourney bid.

You're probablly the guy that played JV baseball and "got screwed" because you hurt your arm and never recovered...

Here's an idea, only fund and support programs that make money. Have fun staying in the Big 12 with 2 sports. The truth is, hardly any College Baseball programs turn a profit, no matter how much success they've had. To argue that funding should be cut off until the program produces is such backward/retarded logic it's almost funny.

Do you realize how good of a baseball conference the Big 12 is?  It takes time.  He's only been there what, four years?  He's a thousand times better than Mike Clark, and he was there for like, 17 years.  This team is getting better.  Be patient.

Baseball tends to be an acquired taste IMHO.  I will say this though:  Actually go to a few games and get a feel for the atmosphere.  Most people are pleasantly surprised by how much fun the games are.  Of course, when I was at KSU, the atmosphere at the stadium was roughly the same as the atmosphere at a paint drying competition.  Kinda hard to really get into a doubleheader when they are less fans in the stands than there are players in the dugouts.

Baseball tends to be an acquired taste IMHO.  I will say this though:  Actually go to a few games and get a feel for the atmosphere.  Most people are pleasantly surprised by how much fun the games are.  Of course, when I was at KSU, the atmosphere at the stadium was roughly the same as the atmosphere at a paint drying competition.  Kinda hard to really get into a doubleheader when they are less fans in the stands than there are players in the dugouts.

I don't know why it's so hard to see the appeal of this. Getting in for free or next to nothing, picking where you sit, eating cheap hot dogs and sunflower seeds on a beautiful afternoon... Oh and you get to watch baseball while you're at it. Sounds like a perfect day to me.
