I was doing some geneaology research for my wife's family this evening, and I came across part of her line that can be traced back to William the Conqueror, Charlemagne and Alfred the Great, King of the Britains (no jokes about autonomous collectives).  There's royalty literally all over Europe in there.  I married into royalty, so I'm probably now a duke or a count or something. 

My first order to all of you is to kiss my feet and/or ass.

Found another link that supposedly traces Charlemagne back to Abraham and Isaac.  I have my doubts about that one though.  It would have been the kind of thing that old royalty would have done when there weren't any records to disprove otherwise in order to legitimize themselves.

Was told by my mom ten years ago that I am 1/8 Chinese or Japanese (she was not sure which). Thought this was sweet. Explained a lot (short, like asian girls).

This was then refuted by my dad a year ago who said he was pretty sure it was 1/8 mexican. Thought this was sweet as well because it came w/ a holiday (cinco de mayo). I also like spicy stuff, jalapenos, tacos, etc.

Older sister then recently tells me that based on an old birth certificate she is pretty sure it's Italian. Thought this was horrible news. Don't like Italians or their crap filled pasta based meals. Italians are the worst imo.

My ancestors were the mayor(s) of Zurich for so many years they eventually stopped calling those in the position the mayor and just went with our family last name.  There's money in the fam somewhere I'm sure, but didn't make it across the big pond I guess.

Traced it back and found that she is the 18th cousin, 6 times removed to Queen Elizabeth II and 23rd cousin, 4 times removed from W (3 times removed from HW)--The Bush's and QEII share a common ancestor.
