Meier just isn't any good. The WCO requires a good QB and Meier ain't it.

There isn't any one person you can blame our offensive woefullness on.

Look at our running stats.  As bad as Meier has been, they're worse.

why do we continue to not play james johnson or leon patton?  clayton obviously cant get it done.  how many shoe string tackles did louisville have on him today?

I think we just saw why Clayton plays.  If he does find a crease, he's got the speed to take it a long way.

But until that run, yeah, he had a rough day.

OLine continues to embarrass. These guys don't even know who they're supposed to be blocking. Voegeli looks horrible. :flush:

Bulsh** Purrple.  :bs:

We need an Oline.

Meir threw some grounders but he showed he can move the team when he is PROTECTED.

NO FU**ING RUNNING GAME.  They were teeing off.

Offensive Line was up against the best D-Line in the country and it was amazing they didn't hammered even worse.

However, they have a lot of work to do.

You take away the few bad decisions, and you get one key stop, this game might have been a lot different.

Blitz this KSU offense and they will fold like a cheap tent. Other teams are taking notice.

This was the only time I ever said that I wish Snyder was back, and Raheem was the D-Coordinator.

Raheem knows what he is doing. No doubt about it. I'd give anything for a good option QB right now.

    This ZERO is my Hero
If our offense can ever manage to be dangerous we would be legit.  Our defense will keep us in the rest of the games.  I still think the offense will get better, remember they're still four games into a new scheme.  We just have to make progress each week, which I believe we are and will continue to do.

We played a good team today, probably the best we'll face all year.  I think we'll be okay as the year goes on.

    The very best.
It is a tragedy because now, we have at least an extra month without Cat football until next year. I hate wasting my life away but I can hardly wait until next year.

You can't be racist and like basketball.
Clayton started running hard after his long run...hopefully it gave the OL a little confidence.

Pretty much everyone on offense stunk, though.

    Fear the Brick
The offensive line's incompetence only magnifies Meier's marginal ability.  I think today should put to rest the "he's learning a new system" excuse for Meier.  He could not make throws that Big 12 QB's should be able to make.

But we all knew that the O-line sucked and DM was marginal, what was disappointing was all the freaking drops by our TE's.  Also, I thought the reverse pass was a jackass call...at the time it was the 2nd quarter and we were down by 7 and even though we were really struggling to move the ball, we should have been thinking field position as our defense was playing well at that point.

AMEN.  Meier can get the job done.  Anybody would look bad with six bodies draped all over them.  Rushed on most every throw.  No running game because the D line is living in the backfield. :forked: :banghead:

Meier didn't get sacked once today.  Granted he was often hurried...but he has been absolutely ineffective in four games.  If our offense is going to be ineffective it might as well be ineffective developing a freshman qb.  At least Freeman has the arm strength to throw the deep ball for a big play.  Meier is not a BigXII level qb.  Sure wish we had Evridge at this point.

Meier sucks.

I told you that during the middle of the summer.  Glad to see that you've finally come aorund to seeing my perspective.   :D

You can add me to that list.   More than once Meier should have put the ball where it needed to be and didn't, or, he waited to long to thrown.

I think he's much better than this, but it's clear that Meier just can't do it well in the game.

We need someone who's going to step up.  Time to develop Freeman.

if we put freeman in we can kiss our bowl hopes goodbye. he needs to take a series or two every game. but we cannot put the load on him. that would be stupid. i for one am tired of not getting to bowl games. i don't want to have a third year in a row of not making it to a bowl. keep meier in for the rest of the season.

Freeman didn't do any worse than Meier did against a great defense.   Meier may have already peaked, Freeman hasn't.  I would just as soon start to develop him now.  Meier looks much more poised than Freeman does, and makes better decisions, but Meier doesn't seem to be leading the team.   I'd rather grow a leader NOW and look at establishing a solid program for the future than to hope to get to a bowl with an ineffective QB.

we can do both. if we do what Mizzou did with Daniels last year by giving Freeman a series or two every game and have Meier start for the majority we can manage to get to a bowl and develop Freeman at the same time. Freeman won't be able to lead us to a bowl game this year. You can argue that he did just as good as Meier and I would disagree with you but he also came in when we were down 24-0, that is a lot different than 0-0.. Our O-line will improve gradually and we will get to a bowl with Meier. I don't see us in a bowl game with Freeman..

I still don't know that our chances of making a bowl are that much better with Meier at the helm.

Meier had time to throw.  He missed open receivers.  That has nothing to do with the running game (nor should it, given our scheme).  He's just not good enough.

Freeman was overthrowing everybody too.

I say relax people.

Next game will decide our confusions.

If Meier gets time to throw and misses his targets then I will agree with you.

For those that think Freeman needs to develop during Conf games then consider this , he runs the same offense in practice as on game day. He was overthrowing everybody. He has an accuracy problem but he has a Sunday NFL  gun. What's the point of playing  him for experience if  he's inaccurate in practices too.  Is he supposed to miraculously get accurate ?  He needs more repetitions until he gets it.

If our receivers would've been 18 feet 9 inches tall then yes, Freeman looked better then DM.

DM should be the starter, with spot duty for Freeman.

I saw everything I needed to see of Meier on the play where he had all the time in the world and still skipped the pass 2 yards short of a wide open Figurs coming across the middle. The guy just doesn't have the skills - especially the arm strength - to play QB in Div 1.

I'm w/ MJ, at this point Meier isn't good enough to justify playing him over Freeman...
