So say Snyder isn't getting it done in three years...will we have to possibly FIRE the guy who built the program and the stadium is named after?  What do we do if he isn't getting the job done?  Talk about uncomfortable.....

Not trying to be negative, but this scenario is not out of the question.  I  hope he doesn't ruin his legacy.  Here's to hiring some BA young assistants!

It's worse than that, he can't be fired, won't happen, game over.

One of two things will happen.  One, hopefully our admins have the decency to "fire" him and let it be released as a resignation.  Second, worst case scenario is he doesn't leave when his time is up and continues.  This is a very sketchy time for our program.  This is why we should have hired someone who was qualified last time around instead of some joke from the ACC.  Our admins f-ed it up and now the fans are going to pay for it.

Bill would quit if he thought he was not getting the job done.  Thats part of the reason he quit 3 years ago.  The man loves K-State football more than you can possibly know.  He was not my first choice, but not because I didn't feel he could do the job.  I just felt that a younger man could provide stability in the program for a longer time.  Bill would agree to this also.  Having said that perhaps this is an oportunity for Bill to bring back some successful assistants who have had a shot of their own at HC.   :ksu:

I agree we can't/won't fire him, but we could easily have fans clamoring for the "resignation" of our own legend.  That possibility sucks and could be like FSU w/Bowden, but much worse.

I think you are right on with him quitting if it got that bad.  The only question I have is, was our search really that bad that bill snyder was number 2 on our list?  It was Gary Patterson, and then Bill???  No way, what made them say screw it we can go with Bill?

We have pretty much done this once before.

If you are K-State, and you fire a head coach midway through his 3rd season, nobody worthwhile is going to even listen to you.  Particularly if you have a retarded fanbase as we do.  Be realistic.   Ron Prince's record in three years, is pretty much exactly what Gary Patterson's was going to be for his first three years.  So w(hy)tf would he, or anybody, take a job that they weren't even going to get three years to build?

The only people stupider than our administration is our fanbase.  As evidenced by the last two weeks of:  "oh Terry Bowden!  oohh Tommy Tuberville!  oohh Gary Patterson!" none of those people were ever an option.

Fans at Penn State were frustrated and calling for Paterno's resignation really loud in recent years, yet they stuck with him and now are one of the top teams in the country again this year.  So just because a legendary coach has a few bad years does not necessarily mean it will stay that way.  I have much faith in Bill Snyder's coaching ability.

So why fire the guy 3 games before the season is over???  I have no problems with the fire, just a problem with the timing.  It didnt put us in any better position with anyone, including bill.  This is just a rediculous, embarrassing time in KSU athletics.  Really odd.
