What's sad is that apparently our outbound school president has no earthly idea or is in complete and utter denial about either the critical importance or the current state of recruiting in regard to this football program.

In all honesty, I have to believe Wefald  has no real comprehension about what is occuring at this point in time just as he was completely ingnorant to the real state of affairs of recruiting as he enabled the final year of the Jim Wooldridge failure.  Not having a single committment on list with an offer from another BCS school and two players that weren't even capable of making a JUCO roster reaks of the same desperation of scouring the ivory coast rec leagues for a big man.

I doubt that JW is that out of it.  But RP's failure to attract better recruits will be his primary downfall.

Worst move we could make.  Ron might win a few (not many) and stick around for years with the program having no real hope of experiencing significant success so long as he's here.

Agreed, it would be better to suck for one year more and then have a chance at hiring a real coach. Rather than going 6-6 and starting a cycle of 5-7, 3-9, 4-8 seasons.

Alarming statement overheard yesterday:
Ron Freeman was chatting it up with some people and said "Coach Prince is going to be here a long time. If people don't like Coach, then they better find a new team".

I hope that's daddy just speaking his mind rather than some inside info Wefald and Krause gave him.

As the game closed the OU players went to go and high five all of their fans.  OU fans went down to the railing along with some KSU fan kids, and even more sad, our high school recruits ran down there to high five them.

I am not ready to give up on this recruiting class... I think there are still a lot of pretty decent players that we can pull in. If we don't see any progress within the first 2-3 weeks after our season ends then I will begin to panic about the years after next. We won't bring in the type of players that snyder could with Prince though. Pretty easy to see that, that will never happen.

Like who? I've never seen a big 12 school w/as little recruiting momentum than KSU in 2009.

Honestly, we are not even *in* on any legitimate recruits.

Now if we can pull in Barrow and Sofele that would be 2 pretty good pickups IMO with how this class has gone so far.

Dude hadn't taken his ACT/SAT at that point.  I guess you can't take any official visits until you have.  At least that's what I read on one of these boards.
