The perverse thing is, I actually see this playing out exactly like the Wooldridge debacle.
School President has hitched his wagon to this guy. School President doesn't want to ride off into the sunset with the firing of another coach. School president obviously didn't learn from the last time he tried to play athletic director and let his personal relationship and ambition come before the good of the program.
So, we keep a lame duck on staff for another year, just like we did with Wooldridge. The inevitable happens, he gets killed in recruiting, he doesn't land a legit DC because obviously no one with any credibility will join the staff knowing he'll be gone in a year anyhow, Freeman goes to the draft, we're just as bad if not worse next year, and we're sitting here having the same convo 12 months from now.
