Snyder really was an offensive genius.

  It showed the last few years didn't it.  Snyder wasn't an offensive genius, he had players that could execute a play.  Option left, option right, slip screen, draw, qb draw, throw the out, throw the in, throw it deep.  Did I miss any plays from Snyder's novel of a playbook?  Over the last couple of years it showed that he wasn't an offensive genius; all the "great" players were gone and an offensive genius would have found a way to score more points than his opponents.

He still averaged 30 ppg in 2004, and 26 ppg in 2005.

I agree that Snyder was an offensive genius. The problem in the latter years (not that it was bad) was that he saw a change in the scheme of college football. IMHO, he thought he was staying ahead of the curve and had a better chance to finish teams off with a better running attack.

Sniff... hell no, we won't even be in the same county as those numbers, but that doesn't make Snyder an offensive genius.

actually it was bowl game in 2001 vs the Cuse.  We lost 26-3.  That was the worst game I ever saw Ksu play in the Snyder era (ku in 92' is a close 2nd)

I don't know about this talent level argument. Seems if your a D1 program you should have the talent and the confidence to match up and score against a D1 AA foe. You may not get it in the first 2 quarters but by the third and fourth you start punching it in and everyone talks the next day about how long it took to get going. For KSU right now it has got to be first game jitters with a new coach and a new system. Sure our O-line needs major work but you can start to play that to your advantage. Start by allowing the D-line to penetrate and dump it over them with a screen pass to our running back.

I'm hoping this next game allows some confidence to start to build. Follow that with a solid game against Marshall. Nice thing is we got a "homer" schedule. These young coaches are not dumb and they are not above getting fired up.
