RSCI Analytics
September 1st, 2006

The RSCI (Recruiting Services Consensus Index) is a great tool that provides a composite score for college basketball recruits based by combining the major recruiting services rankings into one number.  This is a great tool for really understanding who the most in-demand recruits were in a particular year and also to follow along to see if they live up to the hype.  I recommend everyone go by RSCIHoops.com and take a look at all the methodology.

I decided that it would be helpful to have a way of organizing these numbers and also to assign a head coach to each player so we can see who has been successful in recruiting and who has not.  I would also like to provide some analysis of these statistics at a future date.

RSCI Analysis is an improved format over the original RSCI, allowing you to view particular coaches recruits or particular teams recruits.  I will also add a different year-sorting soon, one based on the players on a particular team in a particular year.  By doing this I’m hoping to see a few things based on historical fact:

   1. How many top flight players are generally needed to win certain achievements?
   2. What coach has done the most with the least?
   3. What coach has done the least with the most? Quin Snyder Tommy Amaker
   4. What coach has developed the most underrated players into NBA draft picks?
   5. What coach has developed the most overrated players into Bud Light reps?

Please take a look and, as always, email me if you have any questions or comments (or just put a comment down there).

It is a tragedy because now, we have at least an extra month without Cat football until next year. I hate wasting my life away but I can hardly wait until next year.
