Also did you know that Global Warming is a lie being perpetrated by the scientific community to umm.. I dunno save the planet or something?

Two questions for you..

1).  Global Warming is caused by "man" or "nature?"

2).  What makes you think the planet is in peril?

The answers to everything- who gives a crap if it stops throwing money people that want to blow us up.

Non-answer and irrelevant statements to the questions I asked.

Next please.

Fail.

It's completely relevant to the topic at hand and is more important than you and your penis pal Azcat spending every minute on these forums circle jerking. If you were a legal American, you'd realize not getting blown up is more important than attacking the other side of the aisle.

Global Warming is not a man made problem.  It's not even a problem.   It's an attempt by the leftist fringe of the world to stop progress in the world by feigning some kind of eminent disaster.

I don't attack the other side of aisle, I attack the liberals.   And I attack people who spend time trying to tie  two unrelated issues and attempt to make a moral comparison.   Mankind can't change the climate, despite what you may want to believe.   Spending trillions to prevent a non-issue is not the same as spending money to stop terrorists from killing innocent people.   If you want innocent people to die, then spend your money on stopping global warming and don't spend money on stopping terrorism.  Then you can explain to people why mankind is suffering when we should be prospering, assuming the leaders of the Caliphate let you.

You don't get it. I'm not arguing anything about global warming. I don't CARE about global warming. Please tell me where I suggested otherwise.

As for the rest of your post, you continue to make assumptions and pull things out of your ass.

Here's my stance on anything related to this issue. Write it down. Don't try to attach other things to it (like you've done in your two previous posts).

I don't want our money going to communists, islamofascists, jihadists, or really anyone of a religion where there is a major number of people that want to harm us. This global warming scare and the "green" movement are helping us move away from this. Conservation of energy SHOULD be at the heart of everyone on the right. Read Gingrich's book "A Contract With Earth." You might learn something (like comprehension!).

Duh but at least everyone can probably mostly agree with this thought.

This global warming scare and the "green" movement are helping us move away from this.

Perpetuating a fraud will, in the long term (and perhaps a lot sooner), only serve to turn a large majority of the population against the causes pushed in the name of the fraud.  Anyone, like myself, who believes in the long term necessity of new energy alternatives must necessarily oppose the use of a fraud in an attempt to advance the agenda.  To do otherwise is to sacrafice many steps backwards in the probably near future for a few forward today.  That's not acceptable.

Conservation of energy SHOULD be at the heart of everyone on the right.

Conservation is a component of a comprehensive plan and nothing more.  You can't tax your way to prosperity and you can't conserve your way to energy independence.  We tried it under Carter, it was an utter failure then and will be once again.  Conservation is, at best, a way to blunt high prices.  At worst it's an economic disaster, a guarantee of lower standards of living, and a false hope which if implemented on a large enough scale might actually slow price increases and therefore slow the transition away from oil.  It's not the answer, most of the answer, or even a large fraction of the answer; it's of marginal utility.

The real answer is the rapid advance of many alternative sources of energy as they become economically viable.  Note that these alternative sources must necessarily include everying which, obviously, includes alternative sources of oil.  If you like jobs and a healthy economy you like increasing energy consumption, the answer is more and better sources not wearing an extra argyle sweater in the winter and airing up the tires.

Make up your mind what your issue is.    If we're going to spend trillions, why spend it on a fraudulent issue of Global Warming than stopping terrorists from killing innocent people?

If you think you're saving the planet by combating Global Warming, think again.   All you're doing is making it easier for people to go to those fringe religions and economically destroying the US.   Obviously, you didn't think your response out very well.

He also didn't stop to consider where all those hundreds of billions of dollars worth of carbon credits will be purchased: from the world's thugocracies where people live like cattle in horrible conditions and loony religious zealots rule the land.  And if modernization means that said thugocracies will generate more carbon and therefore have less carbon credits available for sale what impetus will the world's thugs-in-chief have to improve the living conditions of the citizens of their fine nations?  Zero.  None.  Nada.

So the global green / socialist dream will result in merely shifting the outflow of hard currency from the current thugs to other largely indistinguishable ones while guaranteeing that those in charge of the least developed nations have every incentive to ensure that their nations remain the least developed.  Of course we all know that for the far left it's really development and modernization that are the enemy so this comes as no surprise.

My mind is clearly made up what my issue is. The "green" trend is helping people conserve and making people think of alternative fuels, which keeps money out of the hands of terrorists and communists. This is a fact. I'm not making excuses for idiots going over board on global warming. Us needing to conserve and implement renewable energy is what I'm arguing for. The loons on the left are going overboard with everything, just as you're exaggerating this. "Economically destroying the US"? Please. We're already doing that ourselves.

The green trend is doing nothing to help conservation, the huge increase in energy prices have done that.    Despite your belief that scaring people into conservation is going to keep the money out of terrorists hands, think again.   Terrorists will get their funding in a multitude of ways, so simply not buying gas will have little effect.

This is classic Republican public relations in the War on Science.  Just keep questioning the studies enough to "put them in doubt."  You don't need any legitimate counter-argument, just enough to raise some doubts in the public's mind.  I'm just wondering what interest you guys have in carrying water for the oil and coal industries?  Don't they take enough of your money already to not want to work for them for free?  Remember these people are the same ones who told us smoking cigarettes don't cause cancer.

So since Communists and Jihadists get money regardless, we shouldn't make priorities to not help fund them? Do you know how much sense this doesn't make? You're reaching for arguments here. Face it, conservation and renewable energy makes sense- despite wacko lefties making it more than it is and stubborn rights thinking conservation is bad because the lefties are for it. Also, the green trend helps. You simply saying otherwise does not make it true. CF lightbulbs are common place. Recycled/recyclable building materials are in use more now than ever before. LEED accreditation is skyrocketing. Hybrids became a trend before rising costs. The gas prices help, but the fact that people now are rebuilding an entire city to be close to zero energy is not because of rising gas prices.

Unless you want to end the free market process and turn the world into a communist state where the government controls who gives out the cash, then by all means.  I don't think that's the philosophy one should take.

Quote
You're reaching for arguments here. Face it, conservation and renewable energy makes sense- despite wacko lefties making it more than it is and stubborn rights thinking conservation is bad because the lefties are for it.

I don't disagree with the premise of conservation, everyone should do it if they can, but it's just one aspect of a larger energy plan, one we don't have.   We're not spending money on research and investment on renewable sources because oil, for the most part has been cheap.  There hasn't been an economic need to make it a priority.  Only when the price shot up more than the country was ready for, does it now become an issue.   You are tying it to communists and jihadists, but conserving energy isn't going to stop the process of terrorism.   The two are totally unrelated.

Quote
Again, read Newt's book and realize sustainability is (read: SHOULD be) at the core of conservative's beliefs. Again, I'm not defending either party's actions or stupid behavior. I'm saying there are benefits to this movement, whether you like them or not- or whether you have any actual beliefs or are here for the arguments.

Also, in Newts book, sustainable energy is also producing our own.  I'm all for that.  Never have I not been a proponent of being able to produce our own energy free from dependence on other politically unstable regions.

Quote
Also, the green trend helps. You simply saying otherwise does not make it true. CF lightbulbs are common place. Recycled/recyclable building materials are in use more now than ever before. LEED accreditation is skyrocketing. Hybrids became a trend before rising costs. The gas prices help, but the fact that people now are rebuilding an entire city to be close to zero energy is not because of rising gas prices.

You're talking about two different things.   Green in the terms of environmental preservation is very different than conservation of energy sources.   Producing energy that is clean and cheap should be a necessary provision within a comprehensive energy plan, one that doesn't currently exist.   Both the Republicans and Democrats have failed miserably in that regard.   In terms of environmental protections, neither party is particularly adept to understanding how to let the free market dictate the acceleration of technology to help combat these issues.   We don't need any more government regulation, we need government programs that facilitate a pro-business mentality to helping the environment, and it's been proven to work.   In case you were wondering, Al Gore is trying to do the same thing with Global Warming by doing Carbon Credits.   His "angle" however is to make money on bad science, which is a problem.

In essence, your premise for conserving to stop the flow of money to jihadists and communists is rather puritanical if not naive.   You want to achieve that kind of results, the first thing is to get the US producing more energy at home, developing the technologies to extract cheap energy while simultaneously looking at developing the technologies to produce energy in other ways that will replace the oil, coal, and other forms to transform our economy away from that.   Going "green" is just a side benefit.

Let me know when you can show scientific proof of mankind "changing" the climate.

Ever heard about that pesky hole in the ozone layer that developed over Australia?

Other than more ultaviolet radiation getting through, I don't know how that is related to climate change.

Be more specific.

I'm waiting for you guys to quote the science and have a discussion.   You want to have a discussion of the science, then let's do it.  Otherwise, you're all arguing from the position of "the science is settled, we need to act" without ever understanding what the science is.

So I ask, and I know I will be ignored.. please tell me what scientific study says conclusively that mankind is the cause of the current global warming and we'll go over it together.

That's all I ask.   You think you can do that?

I saw it on Sesame Street once.

Then I rest my case.
