Magruder is similar to Anderson in the sense that neither can play, not that they play the same position.

Your second best player this coming season will be Cole Aldrich...think on that for awhile before you post nonsense like that

from the ljw....

"In one instance while messing around during a water break, Aldrich blocked a young girl’s shot, and another camper shouted out, “Hansbrough,” referencing Aldrich’s vicious swat of North Carolina All-American Tyler Hansbrough during the NCAA semifinals."

And steve, all of our players are better than all of your players.  Face it, dude.  But I will be rooting for the powercats (exceptwhentheyplaykulol).

Alright, here's the rub.

KState fans and ku fans constantly disagree on which program is better.

Be completely honest here, Kitties.

Which team would you rather root for?

Team A: 37-3 (13-3), Big 12 Champions, Big 12 Tournament Champions, Make Final Four, Win National Title
Team B: 21-12 (10-6), 3rd Place Big 12, Lose in Big 12 Quarterfinals, Make NCAA Tournament, Win One Game in Tournament
Team A and B split the season series.

Again, which team would you rather root for?

Team A: 12-1 (7-1), BCS Bowl Champion
Team B: 5-7 (3-5), No Bowl
Team A beat Team B head-to-head at Team B's stadium

They would probably rather root for the team that they like, imho.  One school would probably make its followers happier, though.

not the point, RSC.  the point is that your team this year consists of the dick-rubber (who i hear is hitting the McD's hard this summer), some goofy white kid, two trash juco's and two twins who may or may not make it academically and no one committed for '09.

Just so we're clear, you don't think even the best JuCo's in the country can be productive?

I guess I don't understand why K-State fans would expect ku's '09 recruiting class to be anything short of top 5, given the fact that we just won a National Championship and have plenty of playing time available.  It's either denial or ignorance, maybe both.  Not to say that K-State isn't off to a great start for its '09 class - Judge and McGruder are both very good prospects.  However, to imply that ku's '09 class is "struggling" seems a bit far-fetched.  It's July 2nd... most recruits don't even start taking official visits until September.

newsflash:  you only have 2 scholarships for '09.  that's not a top 5 class.

Xavier Henry and someone like Lance Stephenson would be a top 5 class by itself.  There's also the possiblity that another scholarship becomes available.

#2 and #7 would not be top 5.  We had #1 and #7 if you recall and needed another 4* and a few high 3*s to end up #2.

No. I'm simply pointing out the laughable fact that KSU fans think that their school arguably had a better year than ku, when not one unbiased person would say KSU had a better football OR basketball season.

Then you're question about 'rooting' is idiotic.

Most, if not all, non-tards agree this was the year of the bird (at least in mbb and fb) based on records and awards.  Now, I say that as a ku alum so it may not be accurate.

Not looking so good now for that Top 5 class Hawk Fans....

Sidney said he had narrowed his list of potential destinations to the University of Southern California, Texas, Arizona State, Memphis, and Texas A&M.
His stay in college could be short, though. Sidney does not hide his desire to enter the NBA draft in 2010.
"If I just go to college and do what I'm supposed to do, I'll be out of there in one year," he said. "That's my goal."

Then there was the shot at Xavier Henry, which now might be a little more difficult.

http://www.sportsline.com/mcc/blogs/entry/6271764/9209240
Quote
Henry was down to Kansas and Memphis, and he's visited both schools. He said the new plan is to finish the summer circuit and then visit Texas and UCLA before making a decision between those four programs, though sources still insist it'll likely come down to Kansas and Memphis

I've been reading ku is making a strong final push for John Wall too... according to Goodman though, that may not matter. Many say Goodman is an idiot. However, he was the only analyst to predict the 2 latest and most difficult predictions- Ebanks to WV and Negedu to Tennessee

http://community.foxsports.com/blogs/goodmanonfox/2008/07/09/LEBRONS_EYEOPENING_WEIGHT_WALL_GAVE_UNC_THE_HEISMAN
Quote
Wall’s top three are Oregon, Oklahoma State and Baylor.
(Kentucky is another school expected to be high on the list)

Derrick Favors will be a tough get with G-Tech, UGA, Clemson, and NC State all in the mix for the local boy.
Avery Bradley is a big target as well for ku, but rumors say he may join teammate Abdul Gaddy in a package deal. If that's the case, don't look for a midwest team to snag the pair of west coast stars. And if they go separate ways, look for them to stay on the west coast anyway. Both are looking hard at UCLA and 'Zona.

Overall- I would keep my mouth shut about recruiting at this point if I were a ku fan. Just because you offer scholarships to everybody in the top 20 doesn't mean they have interest. Safest bet at this point is Lance Stephenson, who was recently cut from the U18 National team for being "high-maintenance". Past that, who knows if you get anyone else at the top.

Dood, it's ku.  My bet is those kidz don't think they're good enough to play there so they're choosing lesser programs where they feel more confident.  Or, a less likely option is they want go to a top program + go league in one year.

after listening to BMW talk about how a henry and stephenson class would be top 5 by itself (not going to dispute that), i thought about it and i came to the conclusion that that class will never happen.  the top 3 prospects on ku's realistic list (see above) are all SGs.  why would you take 2 SGs in the class that will replace sherron "my-penis-can-guess-your-thread-count" collins?  especially since self just took 2 SGs in the '08 class in releford and little.  that class won't happen because that would leave ku with only 4 frontcourt players (mo twins, QT and Aldrich) who would even be worth a crap.  and with the way aldrich fouls, that's really only 3.25 frontcourt players.
