there's a video of these "premium" seats half way down the page.  I mean, I guess if people are willing to shell out that money for it, f*ck it.  It's kind of like those seats at the Bram that are pointless.

    The very best.
It is a tragedy because now, we have at least an extra month without Cat football until next year. I hate wasting my life away but I can hardly wait until next year.

Nothing's funnier than watching your little brother get a couple of good swings in on you. He starts thinking he's pretty good and he can take you, but eventually he is reminded why you are the big brother and that his feeble attempts at covering up the track around the football field are useless.

Guests also were treated to a tour of the soon-to-be-completed Anderson Family Football Complex, the most popular stop of which was the super-sized office of head coach Mark Mangino, which is only slightly smaller than the state of Wyoming and comes complete with a personal bathroom/shower facility.

You know that shower had to be a part of some make or break deal for Mangino.  "I said I wanted that second shower head at waste level!  For eh, hygiene reasons."  Probably a pile of used towels as they toured the place.

The personal shower was absolutely a Mangino demand.

Dax, please tell me that these weren't what Weiser was talking about, except they'd be in permanent seating form (kind of like the open louge boxes at the bram) but still "exposed" to the weather?

I'm guessing alcohol is involved. It is at the Bram, and that alone makes them not pointless.

The best is the video.  Announcer says "This is the first of it's kind in college football."  Yes it is the first...and last.  Until Duke has an Orange Bowl victory, then all bets are off.

Can someone go check the spin meter over on phag.net.

BMW and Jayhoax laughed at us for years for having folding chairs in the North zone.

At least we didn't place them on scaffolding and call it a luxury.

Nobody will buy these for personal use. They are marketed to businesses to buy them to give to clients. It's smart and, yes, it takes a lot of money to compete in athletics. Look for other college football teams to install similar setups soon.

OMFG!!!

Yeah, clients just love those behind the goal post seats.

Kstate installed something similar to this for clients.....Its called club seating mid-upperdeck.

One, you are looking at a small section there for demonstration purposes.

Two, they are temporary seats that are basically being used to see what the demand is for that type of seating while ku builds a new track facility, should be done in 2010, and then rips out the track and lowers the field.  Most likely similar seats will be added to the lowest level of seating after the field is lowered though a club level on the East side is being considered.

Over the next 5 years at ku the field is being lowered, the track removed and a second side of suites will be added to the East side of the stadium and somewhere seating similar to this but along the sidelines will be added.

What an embarrassment to the conference.  This isn't Div II athletics people.  Horrible.  Even the highschool track is better than the western KS eight-man football bleachers.

I'm pretty sure they've decided not to lower the field.

Dax, seriously, was this the type of thing that Weiser wanted or had in mind for his alleged "open air lounge seating" idea except it'd be permanent seating fixtures rather than the metal bleachers with recliners?  It reminds me of the basketball seating they have at the Bram with the computer chairs , computer desk, small flat screens with a view 100 yards away from the court.

Natural lowering from Mangino being on the sideline.

One time at my high school we had a couch on a trailer in the endzone for some high school kids to sit on.  Great idea IMHO.
