Robert always stops by our tailgate. Of course, he's like a dog -- if you feed him or give him food he always comes back. He sniffs us out on road games, too. And, speaking of dogs, he always asks my brother how his dog is doing. Problem is, my brother has never, and will never, have a dog.
During the '02 Holiday Bowl, I ran into one of students assistant coaches and his family from my home town so we hung out and drank beer the night before the game. The SAC's were divided between two rooms in the team hotel. One of the SAC's group had the honor of Robert staying in their room during the Holiday Bowl. Robert didn't get to fly with the team so he rode the "bloodhound" (what he calls Grayhoud buses) to San Diego and arrived early one morning.
I guess Robert was getting under Snyder's skin at that time... Snyder evidently laid down the law with Robert in the lobby of the hotel when he arrived and told him to stay away from the players and any meetings in the hotel. But, to be nice, he told him he could stay with the SAC's.
The SAC's said their room stunk to high heaven from Robert's B.O....
Every waking hour on the hour Robert would tell the SAC's how many hours Snyder had been on the job at K-State...
Robert would wake-up before the SAC's each morning and wake them up by telling them how many days BS had been HC...
Needless to say, the SAC's didn't spend much time in their room other than what was required and they admitted they weren't very effective in helping the team cause due to their roomie.
I guess instead of giving Robert food, I should throw him a can of Right Guard.
