Half of the Huggins hype was based off of Walker and Beasley. Actually, more than half. He brought Walker (thank you bob!) and Dalonte brought Beasley (god bless this kid for staying with us after Huggins left)
Crediting Huggins for 2007-2008 is just retarded. Why not also credit the guy who hired Huggins just as much?
Or if you do insist on crediting Huggins for 2007-2008, be sure to credit Jim Wooldridge for that thrilling 06-07 NIT appearance. It was, his players that actually did anything. Blake Young sucked.
Yes, Weiser and Wefald deserve credit - but let's not forget that part of the season Huggs chose us was completely due to timing. We were in need of a coach and he was available. Credit goes to Wefald and Weiser for hiring him - which many places refused to do based on his past run-ins and reputation - but, as time goes by I think all KSU fans can realize what he brought to the table. There is no Dalonte and Beasley without Huggs - and those are probably two of our biggests assets since Wooldrdige was canned...
There's no hugs without the really smart admin at Cincy, there's no Walker without that really great cop who busted Hugs' drunk ass, there's no Dalonte without Beasley so give Mike that credit for that, there's no DCA without 'Te, there's no hugs without wooly, there's no wooly without Asbury, you can go on forever and nobody should get a pass just because they are connected to something positive later on. Stupid argument.
