Meh.   Who really knows. I can't imagine that this ravenous staff would totally abandon a guy with a crazy ass mom and a 95% chance of garnering an NCAA investigation if he ever does qualify... which is doubtful.

I'll go one further, and say they tend to limit the programs they recruit and abandon programs if they prove unsuccesful after giving them a concentrated effort.  Notice we recruited Chipola JUCO, Georgia Stars, KC PnR and Florida Rams hard in years past, and have now, seemingly, completed abandoned them.  I bet anything you will be able to add Brandon Bass to that list now.  OTOH, Spiece Mo-Kan, DCA, NY Gouchos & Miami Tropics have become the pipelines.  I think in the long run it could be a good philosophy.  However, the short term, when trying to identify those pipelines, is painful sometimes.

I think its a good way to do things.  For one, we are making relationships with programs that we can get players from in the future, and I think its a very good idea to quit wasting time with programs where we put forth effort, but don't land kids.  Florida Rams being a great example.  As long as you stay fluid with this and continue to build new relationships (like th NY Guachos, fairly new) you are in good shape.  We could go back to some of these other programs in the future if needed, but for now stick with what works.  Its a recruiting strategy that just makes sense and you end up wasting less time with kids that really we have no shot at landing.

just my guess.... i don't think the staff evaluates based on results, rather based on access and honesty.  if they're allowed access to recruits and aren't encouraged to waste their time on a recruit that the aau/hs/juco coach knows is going elsewhere (or isn't going to get eligible), i think they're fine with that program.
