prob goes without saying but i was told that one of the coaches said a while back that if mitchell went to florida this year he was basically ours and that if he stayed in texas it didn't look very good. again, probably obvious but still.

time to start scrapping the bottom of the barrell.

I'm a little confused here.  One, what does Selby have to do with Mitchell.  Two, how do you consider a 5* the bottom of the barrel?  Once again I have to apologize for my lbbiq, but it won't get any better without asking some questions.

My guess is that the article about Selby also had other notes and the mitchell quote was in there.  And Catzacker is a relentless drama queen.

I had a feeling it was something along those lines.  Sys tends to post a bit above most of our heads much of the time though, so it's hard to decipher his stuff sometimes.

the scraping the bottom of the barrell comment was in reference to another post where I thought we should be offerring Frank Williams and sys thought that was scraping the bottom of the barrell (which I don't think it is, btw). so eat that, suckface.

just throwing darts at the wall.  really frustrating how little info there is on recruiting this year.

because kstate hadn't been calling him till now, despite him playing for bbass and camping @ ksu and being from grand prairie.

and because he's a 6'0"-6'1"ish point guard.

how would you know KSU wasn't calling him until now?  No one reports on KSU bball recruiting.  I just assumed, since he camped, played for brandon bass, and had KSU listed on his Rivals profile that KSU was calling him.

But like I said, how would I know?  :frown:

his father posts on the rivals nat'l board.  he hadn't mentioned kstate before.

i suppose he might have just forgot, but he seems like he makes an effort not to offend anyone with stuff like that.

i don't know what it means, and m'cat may be right that the info we have is so incomplete that using it as a basis for speculation is futile.

if i had to guess, i'd say that the info does reflect a genuine change in recruiting focus, and that it is a reaction to peterson not qualifying.

but you'd think they'd have been planning for that eventuality for a much longer time.  so, i don't know, whatever.

when you think about it, the recruitment process now starts around 8th grade/freshman year for a lot of guys, so "recently" might be 6-9 months in the lifetime of a recruitment.

yeah, i don't think so in this case.  ksu was mentioned with scott (pretty peripherally) back in the spring, there was talk about him maybe coming to the elite camp.  but he didn't come, and then all his updates over the summer didn't include ksu.

None if these names are new.  K-State is just moving from the "interested" catagory to "in the mix".  It's  probably a reflection of the coaches plans falling apart.  My perceived biggest recruiting flaw of the staff is counting the chikens to early.  It seems like they always think they are doing better with cruits than they actually are, and are later focred to scramble...
