it depends on what you want it for?  do you have an HDTV? do you have wireless internet? Do you sleep with young boys?

having both, i really don't agree at all with that article. . .I think the PS3 graphics are better, but xbox does have the better games, and XBOX live is tons better than PSN, but you have to pay for it.  I'd say I agree that right now the 360 is better cause it has better game choices, but I think in the long run you will like the PS3 better, once developers start to use the full potential of the PS3 you will be amazed.  Not to mention Blue-Ray!!! <---Beautiful!!  And if you don't sleep with young boys, then you should get the PS3, because we all know, the 360 really is just bait for them. . .

I really don't play all that much, I don't HAVE to have the blue ray either.

How much is Xbox Live? and is it available wireless?

That article is pretty bad.

Quote
Performance: On paper, the PS3 is more powerful. In reality, it’s quite inferior to the 360. Without getting into too many details, the three general-purpose CPU’s the xbox360 has are currently FAR easier to take advantage of than the SPU’s on the PS3. I suspect a few years down the road some high budget, first party PS3 exclusive titles will come out that really take advantage of the SPU’s and do things the XBOX 360 can’t, but I don’t think the console is worth buying based on this speculation (for some it will be though, we'll have to wait and see how these games turn out).

Uh...sure.  Very poorly written.

Not so much that.  This guy is clearly an X-Box fan boy.

xbox live is 50 bucks a year, so not that much, it's definately worth it because you get to play a lot of demos early and stuff, and you can rent HD movies.  And you'll have to have a wireless bridge to pull up wireless internet with it, but with the PS3 it's built in one of the systems.  But a good bridge at the CHEAPEST is like 60 bucks.  And you do HAVE to have blue ray, it's freaking sweet as crap.

I'm not getting blue ray any time soon, I'll buy an individual player when it gets cheaper.  I also will only play online during slow months of the year, I don't have much time to play games.

I think I'm going with xbox.

I don't understand why you'd wait to get a stand alone Blu Ray player when you can just get it with the PS3.  I just rented Gran Tursimo 5 Prologue....

Because game wise the 360 blows it out of the water. In fact the only way the PS3 is superior is the bluray player.

COD 4 is amazing. Halo 3 is really good, especially online. Oblivion, Lego Star Wars, Bioshock, Forza 2, All the sports games, Rainbow Six Vegas, GRAW, Orange Box, Guitar Hero, Rock Band, Gears of War, Burnout Paradise, Assassin's Creed, Mass Effect, Dead Rising, Ace Combat 6, Saints Row, etc.

I used to think this too. Just learn how to use a controller and get over it. There's no way I'm going to spend the same $ I spent on my 360 on new video cards each year just so I can play the latest and the greatest. Especially when the same games come out on all the consoles and PC. Not to mention that PC games include more cheaters and the online setup is pretty archaic compared to the 360's use of matchmaking.

Never played Warhammer. You can always play the demos for free over xbox live, though.

There are also some lesser known games that are really good like Shadowrun, Prey and Overlord.

Ok, if I get xbox and want live, I have wireless internet.  do I have to buy the 100 dollar adapter or can I run an ethernt cable from my laptop strait to the xbox.  will that work?

You don't need the official accessory. Any wireless access point will work.

You can run it through your laptop, but it's kinda tricky, but not too hard. I had to do it for a while. There are some guides online.

I wouldn't say it "blows it out of the water" all the good games are on both, except halo 3, which COD 4 is better anyways. . .

And Mass Effect, Oblivion, Forza 2, Gears of War, Bioshock, etc. PS3 has Metal Gear Solid 4 and GT. Lack of backwards compatibility also really hurts.

why tricky?  Is it more than just an ethernet cable?  plugging into the modem really isn't an option at all, and I really don't want to pay 100 dollars.
