You really think so?  I think we'll be better next year than we have been in the post-Kruger pre-Huggins era.

they won't be better than the massey/martin/peete team.  it still baffles and angers me how that team didn't win more.

the big 12 was ridiculously tough that year though.

The starting PG on that team was one Clent Stewart and a true freshman Clent Stewart at that.  That pretty well sums it up as to why that team was never that good.  Also Cartier cut his hand or something like that halfway througth the season and pretty well shot it terribly from that point on.

    Fear the Brick
There isn't anything dumber than comparing next year's team to this year's UT.   The talent disparity surrounding each team's superstar is gigantic.  They have Augustine, we have Pullen, they have Abrams, we have Brown, they have Mason, we have Sutton, they have Atchley, we have Kent, they have Gary Johnson, we have Anderson.  JFC, it's not even close.

You're reading comprehension is terrible, or you didn't read the next to lat paragraph which pretty much states that we'll have to win with defense. You also missed the part where I said we would get back to 10- 6 in Big 12 play and only pick up a few games non-con.

Btw, Mason is a real juggernaut at 7 ppg. I doubt that Sutton can make 3 layups a game and get to the line at all next season. Atchley, boy howdy he is averaging 10 ppg. Man, Ron and DK will never be able to combine to get 10 ppg. :flush:

Sure, we'll have to be good defensively, but to get as good as it will take to mitigate the loss of Beasley and Walker would be something short of a miracle when you're talking about getting to 10-6 in conference again.

Looking at UT's lineup in '06-07 taking out Durant, the lineup of DJ, AJ, Mason, James, Atchley totaled 50ppg...the lineup of Pullen, Fred, Sutton, Anderson, Kent averaged 20ppg....that's a 30 point difference, granted this year's KSU had Walker something UT's 06-07 team didn't, but that would account for about16 points in that 30 point differential and it only underscores how much more difficult it will be on KSU to score.

Get Evans and that might lessen the offensive burden put on guys to score who haven't been asked to.

Why does everyone think walker is gone, he said he didn't want to go to the next level to ride the pine. He'll have to play guard at the next level being only 6'6'' and his shot is not ready. If walker goes to the NBA take a picture of him because you might not see him again on a basketball court. :billypopcorn: then again maybe he wants to eat his million dollar popcorn on the bench.

ron anderson is our future down low. rebounding machine. with his rebounding ability, ill take his lack of points and switch them out for another shot or two from our guards. he will pan out okay.

DK wont. ever.

You don't win the game in manhattan against kansas without Pullen.  And Beasley made everyone on your team look good.  I have to say I did enjoy watching beasley play.
According to ku police reports, the fight involved as many as 100 people.

If Walker goes, we'll need to replace 55 ppg and 25 rpg among the starting 5.

Maybe you could play nebraska style D and beat everyone 18 - 11.   :D

Anderson will get more minutes, and fill in on the rebounding, get a lot of the putbacks Beasley supplied.

Sutton will improve offensively, hell, he can't get any worse...if he can score from 18 inches when he gets a board, he would quadruple his average... defense and athleticism aren't something you lose (sans injury), so he'll be a solid role player, worse case...lots up upside from there.

Kent 07 = Kent 08 = Kent 09

IF Pullen can become more consistent from 3, he'll be a big step up at the 2...needs to work harder on D though.

Clemente should be an improvement at the point.

Brown...&@#% I don't know...not very optomistic

Samuels...I don't know what to believe.  Based on what the coaches say, I'm expecting a Hoskins-in-his-prime type player...tough for me to  buy into that though.

I still think Hoskins will be back, although it seems like I'm the only one.  Assuming the meniscus takes, it's just a matter of the swelling going down (and not coming back every time he works out) in time for him to get back on the court.  If he's not getting some court time (at least jogging and shotting around) by August, I'll worry.

Colon didn't punch anyone this year, so he should have 2 of those in reserve for next season.

If we can get another shooting guard (Tyree), that will be a huge difference.  In any case, we should improve on the perimeter offensively.  If the perimeter defense can step it up also, we'll be fine.  Good defense and a few guys who can hit open 3s can make up for a lack of overall talent (see Wisconsin).

    Sniff Sniff. . . I smell Heisman.
Next year will probably be more like 98 or 99 Asbury.  Maybe 96 Asbury.

I do think we've got some solid players in place, at least as good as most of the teams of the 12 years pre-Huggs.  And I like having 2 Top 100 including a Top 30 in place for 09.  I will say it probably won't be until the first wednesday in November rolls by and those guys are signed up that I feel real good.
QFMFT.

I'm waiting for the "Dalonte Hill to Georgetown" headline.

He did turn it down once.
csourk is the best pre-college poster on this board.  way better than oxlp956

well, hopefully our hot jerseys will keep him in mhk.
It is a tragedy because now, we have at least an extra month without Cat football until next year. I hate wasting my life away but I can hardly wait until next year.

no one else is going to offer him 300k.  especially now that he can't even bring a beasley with him.  hell, it would be a fairly hard up "elite" type school that would even consider him for a lead asst job.

and g'town's recruiting ok sans 'te300k.

KENT.  K.E.N.T.  'Superman' anyone?  I think we'll really see him step up next year.  He will no longer be pushed back into the shadows and forced to be a 'role' player...a 'guy behind the guy behind the guy.'  We will really see his leadership and talent emerge.  A sleeping giant.  Trust me.  And Clemente(?) will be the fastest guard in the BIGXII!  Next year's KANSAS!
