    The very best.
Who would have though two years later we'd be back to rebuilding?

I guess we should have seen it coming with the whiffs in the 2005-2006 classes.
It is a tragedy because now, we have at least an extra month without Cat football until next year. I hate wasting my life away but I can hardly wait until next year.

We hired Huggins two years to the day. We all thought we were going to take over the world when it happened. Now, we are back to suck.

You really think so?  I think we'll be better next year than we have been in the post-Kruger pre-Huggins era.

Samuels and Anderson pan out.

No, just that we are back to a total "rebuild" stage. Whiffing on the 2008 class sucks.

I don't understand this. You mean if you finish top 5 you are bound to rebuild next year? Maybe, but whiffing on two straight classes sucks. Had we landed at least one nice player in the 05 or 06 classes, we could be decent next year.

    Hey, basketball!!!
Kadji/Little would look really good right about now.

Not having anyone committed for this class at this time really takes away from bragging about what's to come for KSU bball. But hey, Samuels & Clemente. :ksu: :ksu: :ksu:

Tyree would help ease the pain though.....

This class sucks anyway.  We want the jucos, because they'll tide us, until we can establish ourselves as a program (if we can.)  We might have whiffed this year, but Judge and McGruder are big gets for 09.

they won't be better than the massey/martin/peete team.  it still baffles and angers me how that team didn't win more.

the big 12 was ridiculously tough that year though.

martin was never good until jr. year. Peete was overrated by fans. Massey was a tad above dave hoskins.

that team kind of sucked. no defense.

Nobody thought texas would be better after durant left but now they play more as a team. I think even if mike leaves we will be a year older and play togather better. If we picked up evans , also having clemente we should be better at guard. Even if we didnt get evans but got buchi awaji we would be better at guard. :blindfold:

defense was the weak link.  but martin was 40% from 3 that year.  peete was a solid 2 (best at ksu since...).  harris was good that year too.  they had 3 guys that could hit 3s to go w. massey, imagine that luxury.  and williams was solid too.  &@#%ing over williams' career was wooldrige's worst act as ksu coach, imo.  funny how he you still hear the occasional dumbass pining for willingham, but no one ever talks about how he got absolutely nothing from a 6'10" decent athlete with a nice shot.

Next year will probably be more like 98 or 99 Asbury.  Maybe 96 Asbury.

I do think we've got some solid players in place, at least as good as most of the teams of the 12 years pre-Huggs.  And I like having 2 Top 100 including a Top 30 in place for 09.  I will say it probably won't be until the first wednesday in November rolls by and those guys are signed up that I feel real good.

QFT. But just assuming that those two sign in '09.....an '08 class of Evans and McDonald, coupled with an '09 class of Judge and McGruder....then with players like Samuels as a rsSO, Pullen, Sutton, Anderson, Brown, as JR's, Clemente as a SR. ....that sets up nicely for '09.

I'm waiting for the "Dalonte Hill to Georgetown" headline.

 at the "doom and gloom" part of this thread. Bill still has not made his choice. Hoskins still has months to rehab. Also, Clemente and Samuels have yet to see the floor. And the kicker is that no one has mentioned how much playing two NCAA games is going to help these freshman be more hungry to win.

Think about it if we had won 3-4 more regular season games we would have been about 24 - 6 going into the Big12 tourny. Win just one game in the Big 12 tourny and all of a sudden your a 4 seed in the NCAA playing lower seeded teams in the first two rounds.

With the players this conference is losing for next year I see no reason why this team can't get to 10 -6 or better, and 23 wins or better overall.

Look at texas post Durant...then compare it to what we'll have next season

PG - Augustine....Clemente
SG - Abrams...Pullen
SF/G - Mason...Sutton
PF - James...Samuels
C - Atchley...Kent/Anderson

We'll have more length then texas did this year. Having either Walker or Hoskins back changes things also. We're going to be much better on d next year, which will ease our need to score a ton of points (aka make up for Mike's scoring).

I think we are all underestimating what another off season will do for these guys. Pullen will be better/more consistent from the 2 spot. If Sutton can find a way to shoot 30% from outside the lane .

There isn't anything dumber than comparing next year's team to this year's UT.   The talent disparity surrounding each team's superstar is gigantic.  They have Augustine, we have Pullen, they have Abrams, we have Brown, they have Mason, we have Sutton, they have Atchley, we have Kent, they have Gary Johnson, we have Anderson.  JFC, it's not even close.

i lol, and completely fail to understand, the worry about ksu's 2009 recruits.  neither, they, nor hill is going anywhere.

the only thing i worry about with respect to ksu bball is the they'll hire some 'tard ad that will alienate martin and hill.  but, although i don't like wefald, i do at least respect him for having his priorities straight.  self-aggrandizement 1st, sports 2nd, salesmanship 3rd, academics 4th, souls 5th.  so, i don't worry a great deal about that either.

You're reading comprehension is terrible, or you didn't read the next to lat paragraph which pretty much states that we'll have to win with defense. You also missed the part where I said we would get back to 10- 6 in Big 12 play and only pick up a few games non-con.

Btw, Mason is a real juggernaut at 7 ppg. I doubt that Sutton can make 3 layups a game and get to the line at all next season. Atchley, boy howdy he is averaging 10 ppg. Man, Ron and DK will never be able to combine to get 10 ppg. :flush:

You don't have an Augistine or an Abrahms.  ( i know i prolly mispelled both those)
According to ku police reports, the fight involved as many as 100 people.
“We’re pretty sure an incident occurred,” said Capt. Schuyler Bailey, ku Public Safety Officer
“We will handle any discipline regarding this incident internally, and we will have no further comment about it.” Perkins

I'm an optimistic K-State fan, but I still can't completely get away from the notion that if something negative has a chance of happening it probably will.  I tend to think we're safe with these guys and I don't think Hill is going anywhere, but you never know.

QFT.  unless Pullen/Clemente can average a combined 5-7 3's a game our backcourt doesn't match up at all.

I think Pullen will really surprise some people next year.  He showed flashes and I think once he's outa beasley's shadow (in terms of being "the man") he will be a very, very good baller.
