    The very best.
go.

seems like every year they have a high kenpom rating, but don't play well in the NCAA's.

more thoughts later.
It is a tragedy because now, we have at least an extra month without Cat football until next year. I hate wasting my life away but I can hardly wait until next year.

Lon Kruger said he beat them last year because UNLV was more athletic and more aggresive.

They had 17 turnovers yesterday.

They're f*cked.

Their fans are really dumb.  They think Mike is just a solid college player, and have generally very low BBIQ.

Wisconsin basketball is everything NU hoops wants to be; I think that's all that needs to be said.

1st, I don't think we can count on them to shoot as poorly as they did vs CSF.

2nd, they are huge and deep.  But as we saw not real athletic.  I did notice if you can beat them off the dribble and isolate their bigs you can score against them at the rim.  CSF did so several times.  However, if they can set their D they will make it tough for Mike/Bill/Ron to score in the paint.  If they can collapse it will be tough.

3rd, huge contrast in style.  UW's defensive numbers are helped b/c they don't give a bunch of opportunities at around 60 possessions per game.  We'd like 70.

4th, as always the 3 pt line will be big.  Maybe not nearly 45% like last night, but at least approach 40.

They have a great ability not to foul.

In the big 10, they swept IU, took MSU at home, and beat them by 2 @ the tounry (trailed the ENTIRE game), beat OSU by 5 on the road, and got swept by purdue.

The rest of that conference is junk.

Michigan State fans hate them btw. Think refs give them all the calls.

You watch them play, or at least as I did its easy to think they suck.  But its not necessarily reality b/c Ryan has those guys able to muddy up a game like Sadler could only dream of.  And while not athletic, they are skilled and very disciplined as well as extremely physical.  We will get beat up and often won't get calls so prepare youself.  How we handle that, how we dictate pace, and whether we can hit some jumpshots will be huge in this game.

The teams they have lost to, (Duke, Purdue, Marquette) are perimeter oriented.

Yeah, they muddy up a game because they know if they get into a shoot-out with a team they'll lose by 30+.

Duke railroaded Wisconsin this year in the ACC-Big 10 challenge.

Why? Because they're fast and run with the ball. Don't get stuck in the half-court offense. It's ugly.

I was thinking the same thing where if we just ran it, they couldn't really keep up.  Fast transitions could really help us win this game (assuming Young, Stewart, and Colon learn how to do layups.)

Also, the crowd will be hostile to us.  Combine the Wisconsin fans that traveled well with the ku fans and our "home court advantage" from last night is gone.

Screw that. Let Beasley cherry-pick the whole game. He might score 75.

I think playing Pullen, Gilbert, Anderson, Beasley and Walker as your starting 5 would net you more point. Flood the paint, pull it out and dribble drive on offense, make Wisconsin beat you with perimeter shooting and run as much as you can could net you more in the long run.

Wisconsin shoots a stellar 35% from beyond the arch, 54% inside the paint. Clog the paint, make them beat you with the 3. :D

Fair enough, however I'll be surprised if they make the mistake of doubling up on Beasley like teams that have lost you have done.

K-State has problems when they let Beasley get his points but clamp down on everyone else. :peek:

Pullen will be a major factor in this game. His ability to get out and run the break as well as ksu's bigs running the floor could cause serious probs for wiscy.
Agree with the starting five, but give me sutton over gilbert all frackin day. Sutton can get out and finish (relatively speaking to gilbert) and is a major outside threat as we found out last night.

I think it's a push at this moment, running Sutton/Gilbert/Kent in through will just keep the Wisconsin big men tired which is how the win. Not their guard play.

If I were Bo Ryan, I would just put one guy [Butch] on Beasley to "shut him down."  Double team Blake Young and Darren Kent, effectively slowing the rest of K-State's scoring options down and punching the Badger's ticket to the Sweet 16.
