Good game.  Good zoo.

crapty city.  What a trainwreck.  It was like being in downtown KCMO, except the whole city was like that.  I really don't care to ever go back.  Ever.

And the frackers at the Qwest Center made me buy a ticket for my 4 month old son, even though we called Monday and made sure we didn't need a ticket for him.  That ticket cost me $150 for a game he won't even remember.  And the scalpers were stingy as hell!  I was expecting tickets for 70-80, you couldn't get them for under $150.  Oh well, it was totally worth it.

Ran into David Hoskins and talked to him for a few minutes.  He's using a cane and a brace but said that he'll be off it this time next week.  When I asked him if he was gonna be able to play next year he wasn't sure, but he was gonna bust his ass to try and make it happen.

I don't think Dave could look old.  He looks kinda small on a basketball court because he's always going up against 7 footers.  But I was looking straight up at him and I'm 6'0".  He's at least  6'4" and still solid muscle, even after the surgery.  Thick as hell.

He was limping though.

I still salute you. Dropping dollars like that on a son to see the Cats, especially a great game he won't remember, is a sign of true fan-dom. Way to go!!!   :ksu:

I got in for $60.  Hoskins looked good not in a wheelchair.  Anderson had an amazing game.  Corndogs are $2.50 at Qwest Center and are oh so delicious.

Just got back home from the 3 hour drive to Omaha.  That was the toughest ticket that I've ever been around.  We got there at 11:30 and stood outside for 4 hours looking for tickets, the scalpers kept asking for $200 a ticket for the upper deck, it was ridiculous.  Finally, my parents, friend and I panicked about 25 minutes prior to tip and paid $150 a ticket ($600 total) for the upper deck corner.  The scalpers were ridiculous in their prices.  I expected to pay $100 but not that much.  The cops kept telling us there would be plenty for us around 4:30 and later, but they were wrong.  Oh well, it was well worth it

no doubt.  qwest center might be the have the lowest priced concessions i've ever seen and a good variety.  did i mention dippin' dots made an appearance everywhere (i saw someone that had some with oreo's sprinkled on top  :lick:)

It's absolutely &@#%ing ridiculous for you to have to pay that much for a ticket for a child so young.  Hopefully you and your son can look back at this down the road and talk about the beginning days of the KSU basketball resurgence.  I know my dad still tells me about games that we attended together that I have no memory of.  You are a true fan, and sound like one hell of a father.  Go Cats!

p.s.  I sent an e-mail to the Qwest Center in regards to your unique situation.  Maybe if more of us were to do the same....

Good game.  Good zoo.

crapty city.

They built the Qwest (and zoo) in the absolutely craptiest part of town.  They are building the new park for the CWS right next to the Qwest.  I don't know what they have against building something new in a, you know, safe/nicer part of town.   :curse:

He only went to two games at the Bram this season and he eats, drinks, sleeps basketball/K-State.

Did you get a good look at these people?  I'm sure they are the same ones that run our ticket office.  I can't imagine they would screw things up!

LOL, no.  I got them from a Creighton season ticket holder who had 4.  Sure he raped us on the price, but it was worth it.  The guy with dreads had disappeared with alot of other scalpers about an hour or so before tip off.  Talked to one Creighton fan who told me that their season ticket holders were told they could buy as many tickets as they wanted for Omaha.  This guy bought the whole tournament for $169, made me a little   :-[.  Oh well, it was a good time, except for the prick Creighton fan behind me that kept cheering for USC and trashing Beasley at every opportunity

furniture mart, and tennis center. great city imo.
It is a tragedy because now, we have at least an extra month without Cat football until next year. I hate wasting my life away but I can hardly wait until next year.

Phatz what cities and stadiums have you visited, ever been to watch te Spurs in  San Antonio bad location just wait when we go to the Final four to check it out not in my favorite spot, the Riverwalk, and they will charge your son also. When you gt to the elite 8 in Detroit you will be charged again. (if you have never been to Detroit make sure to check out beautiful downtown Detroit a real landmark. (there new stadium was put downtown it's great, downtowns not) NCAA operates each site solely. In fact at Creighton games you can drink beer all season at the Quest center (this from a Creighton fan, not sure how that goes remember Colorado games back in the day hate those fans) As for Omaha being a dump, since when was the old stockyaton yards a great spot. (love the golden ox), or even the new Sprint arena, imagine Creighton fans coming thru North K.C. passing the Isle of Capri seeing the beautiful salvage car lot and smeel the great air by the Bayer plant off the interstate, if they never make it to the plaza or Overland park what do you think there thoughts of K.C. might be. Probably feel the same way you do. But your right Kaufman stadium and Arrowhead are awesome locations love to have drinks and pre party at the gas station accross the street. Don't get me wrong I love to go to Chiefs games, but I don't see these stadiums in great K.C. locations. Every city is trying to revitalize there downtowns takes time to make these things happen you surely didn't make it to West Omaha or the old market. Was in West Omaha last night Huge homes tons of shopping centers and great eats.(Reminded me of Overland Park) The old market had classy resturants, great little hometown shops and nice night spots for great drinks. I will take Omaha any day over Detroit, OKC, Lexington, D.C., Anaheim, Little Rock, the list goes on and on. Lets just say it this way probably not going to recommend to our friends at Creighton to stop and visit beautiful Bannister Mall. Don't get me wrong I love Overland Park were I personally live but, if swoop and poop in any medium to big city there are always dumps in each. Maybe stay a while like I am and get a good feel for things. (Of course i'm still here thanks to the CATS) GO STATE!!!!!!! KILL THE BADGERS

Omaha is incredibly average.  Not terrible but not great or unique.  But what do you expect?  It's a non-major league city in Nebraska?  They are doing the best with the hand they were dealt.
