Therefore our offense cannot be great.

Bummer.

Gee, In your eyes you may be pointing out the obvious; but some support material would have been nice to debate.

Our only hope is that Freeman is a phenom immediately and plays out of his mind.

Meier and Evridge are not capable of being great quarterbacks. They have not proven that they can be and do not have the physical tools that would lead you to believe that they might be. And we all know that Webb is not going to be a factor, but not because he isn't on that same level, he is just as good as either.

And without great quarterback play, your offense is incapable of being great.

It's a shame.

and otherwise, I want to believe that our team could be very good this year.

If you've got Dixon you don't need the other 10 players to even bother suiting up.

Come back to this thread in late October when Dylan is kickin' some ass @ QB. Playing HURT in 2004 as a first time starter, he did some good things. Now imagine his THROWING shoulder is now @ 100%... he has the brain and tools to get things done in 2006. Just wait for it.

If you've been average but severely injured, you've not shown that you can be above average when you're no longer injured. You've only shown that you can be average. If anything, you probably won't be above average when you're no longer injured precisely because you've been severely injured.

I hope one of our QBs has a really great season.  What I don't get is why anyone would be rooting so hard for one of them in particular.  Why the hell are so many people so infatuated with Meier?  I don't get it.

Exactly, we, as KSU fans, seem to have problems being infatuated with white players from small Kansas towns. (Meier, Nelson, Watts, the women b-ball players) Not saying some of these players didn't deserve it, but if you took a poll for your favorite KSU football player, they would be Nelson, Watts, Meier, in that order.

Are you sure that isn't the concensus with your close group of friends.  I won't argue that a lot of people feel that way, But I wouldn't say the #'s are as high as you think.  I'd say that most people like B. Archer more than the three you listed.  He's sure as He11 in my top 3.

As far as infatuation with the Qb's; I really don't give a crap who is the starter as long as they are capable.  I think people are just picking their horse early because it's summer and there really isn't much to talk about.  Speaking of nothing to talk about.  Reason's that each QB could be the starter for this season.

Everidge: young; can take a hit; athletic; picks up new systems quickly because he's not afraid of film and game study. All he needs is to be a leader in the rest of the offenses eyes.

Webb: Athletic, Healthy; can avoid big hits; experience.  All he needs is confidence and to be able to quickly pick up the WCO.  We know what he is capable of, we just need consistancy.

Meier: Precision passing; heady.  All he needs is to stay healthy and again quickly pick up the WCO.  I don't think anyone has really seen what he is capable of.  outside of the spring game it's been 2 years since we've seen him play.  Even then, he was a sophomore and hadn't had time to develop into a Big 12 athlete... Much like what everidge is going through.

Freeman: who knows how he would handle himself if he were put on the field tomorrow.  Obviously he's got the frame and athletic ability to be a star, but even the greatest start out green.

Jordy just happens to be our most productive receiver last year.  As far a Watts, I think people enjoy seeing a guy unexpectedly succeed.  I think you're all wet regarding Meier.  I don't think he is loved, but I think he and Webb are probably the best options this year.  Do you not think Webb gets a fair shake from this staff?  If not, there can really be no other explanation other than that fact that he must have some issues in the attitude or off the field.  That could explain a lot of things.

As far as my all-time favorite Wildcats, in this order:

Kevin Lockett
Michael Bishop
Jeff Kelly
Terrence Newman
Darnell McDonald
Chad May

Not a lot of white boys from small towns in that group and I'm a white boy from a small town.  You are just wrong about most people.  It's really too bad.

What can I say?  I like the passing game.  Sproles was awesome though.

Meier will start and he'll be good enough to get us to a bowl.  That's about all you can expect w/the all around talent we have.

Is there any indication as to who will be your starter at this point?

I think the order is:

Meier
Everidge
Webb
Freeman.

Howver, Webb's status is unknown, although there is considerable noise right now that if he stays at KSU, he won't be playing QB.

Anyone talking transfer yet?  With that many guys all getting a taste at one point or another, they can't be happy riding the pine right now.

Webb and Meier are both Seniors... So transfering wouldn't make much sense.  Although Meier "could" get an extra year of eligiblity if he pursued a medical shirt, but that's just an "if" at this point.  Regardless, The only logical person to transfer would be Evridge, and he will most likely log some playing time as either a starter or the 2nd in line.

I know Washington went to Southest and Brooks Middle.

I am wondering where Swish went to high school.

i played against him in summer ball when he was a senior and i was a sophomore 3 times.  i never played against him in high school ball b/c he was a couple of years older than me.

Evridge has already said he's staying.  I think he ends up the starter in a couple of games.   Freeman better redshirt.

Hmmm ....

How can you really discuss how good KSU's QB's will or won't be when:

1.  Last year they ran for their lives most of the time.

2.  One guy was playing with a shoulder that was basically torn apart.

3.  Two years ago a certain retired head coach was totally and completely infatuated with giving the ball to a certain RB.

Yeah, I had heard that already... And his mom said he was staying too... so yeah, colorado fan: It's very likely that no one will transfer
