It's all about Bill Snyder and his link to Iowa.

Almost 20 years later, Isn't it about time for something new?

Top 10 logo in college sports, imo.  Would you rather have something that looks like a jayhawk?  lol

well personally, considering the raw talent we have from members of this site, i'm curious to see if anybody is up to the challenge of creating a new logo just for kicks. after what i've seen from the photoshop jerseys and what not (which is better than what Nike has offered thus far) lets see what you can do with the wildcat in general!

A good symbol is timeless. We've had all kind of variations on wildcats over the years, but the powercat is truly unique and successful (particulary in marketing terms). Let's not mess with success. Brand awareness is king.

I like it until I see something better.  I really don't associate it with 80's though.

That was at center court at Ahearn, I think.

LOL one time a guy who was following me, told me "That's an awesome Thundercats symbol on your car."

It's getting a little dated, plus everyone has copied it now.

Ridcockulous thread.

I honestly thingk that Powercat indeed does have a shelf life..... but lets face it a logo is only as effective as what it represents.

And the powercat REPRESENTS success on the gridiron. Pure and simple.

If we would have sucked all those years with Snyder the Powercat wouldn't carry near the amount of symbolism and pride it does today.

Considering we're the Wildcats...and there are ALOT OF OTHER D-1a programs with Wildcats as their mascot...look below..

Any questions?

Here is what you get when you let this classless group of bastages create a new logo:

Of course, I love it (I'm one of the bastages who helped design it)...

i don't have anything against the powercat. but at the same time i'm up for a change if the discussion ever gets brought up for real.
maybe if we could just add something to it; give it a little spice if you will. there are definitely ideas out there...

The Powercat is now a brand for our school imho.

It'd be like Penn State departing from the Nittany Lion....

    shame on you, non-believers
I'm still waiting for ECN to create a better logo, since his hatred of our current logo is well documented.

He's got the tools and the talent...but does he have the creativity? Only time will tell.  :ohno:
