I had to share this with this board, because over on the other board....
a poster claims that he would pick Twiggy over Shalee anyday.

This thread should be brought over here because I thought Catfan's thread is just that important. I don't know why he's throwing all these numbers and crap out though.

Just which one would you rather bone???
I'm telling you, this is not ANYTHING like the team from the beginning of conference play. You will see no more blowouts like what happened in OOC.  If we lose, it will not because these kids gave up, and it will be at the buzzer. -Rodless, before 97-70

Well, part of the problem with this debate is they're different kinds of players and play different positions.  I'd classify McIntyre as a significantly undersized 2 guard for Division 1 and Lehning as a true point, or 1 guard.  McIntyre's biggest scoring games at KSU were NOT when she was trying to play the 1 guard position.    I think if McIntyre was thinking about playing time when she transferred, it was because she realized that she wasn't going to start for KSU at either the 1 or the 2 guard position, even as a senior.  She was most valuable to KSU coming off the bench at the 2 guard, and she didn't want to spend her last year of college eligibility doing that.   When McIntyre was recruited, I thought (and I'm sure the coaches thought as well) that she would compete at the point position, if not start there right away.  But it just never worked out that way...

While I'll be the first to admit that I am extremely biased toward Shalee, there is no way I would take Twiggy over her.  I did watch Twiggy's game today against Tulane and was very impressed with her play.  And yes, it did make me cringe a little... thinking about how it would help us to have her.  Long story short, she wasn't happy and she isn't here.

Shalee brings something to the court that I don't think can be found in any other player.  Her ability to time rebounds and find the open person on the court are amazing.  She creates plays.  Twiggy can be a playmaker also, but not quite as effectively as Shalee.

This opinion may not be shared by all, but it's mine!  I'm glad we've got Shalee!
