    It's a nlellephant...
Looking at your list you have one DT committed and he is a Juco.

Parish was committed to Nebraska and then decommitted and on the 2nd go around was down to ku and Wisconsin.  All pretty good program with interest to a Kansas top 10 player.

Why did Ron Prince's staff stay away from Darius?

FYI.  He committed to ku today and I noticed he had no K-State offer.  Thats the reason for the question.

Perhaps, but I thought I remember early on that K-State was not interested in him?  Maybe I am making it up.

He was an eligibilty risk because of grades.

He has a 3.7 gpa and already has a qualifying ACT 19.

Apparently we are just not concerned about getting gouged by the run.  It's a solid defensive philosophy.

    The very best.
He's not a football player. We'll leave it there.
It is a tragedy because now, we have at least an extra month without Cat football until next year. I hate wasting my life away but I can hardly wait until next year.

He was only city-league honorable mention as a senior, and that is sad in wichita.  Without Browns and Harper city-league football is a joke.  I played city-league and anyone can make honorable mention.  Over a third of city-league starters make at least honorable mention.

I Didn't mean to go all glory-days, but it's the truth.

I'm pretty sure he went to KSU's camp.  Still didn't offer.  Being fat does not a good football player make.

Because K-State's coaching staff has no idea how to develop a 6'3 325 lb. defensive tackle.

K-State's coaching staff would rather recruit guys like Brayden Burris and Ethan Douglas than a prospect like Darius Parish.

Are you telling me those 2-star, one-offer recruits are going to come in and contribute right away?

Parish has no skills and is dumb as rocks. There is a reason he commited to callahan/cosgrove.

Anyway about Parish.. When I talked to Coach Franklin for an hour or so in the airport in Chicago, I forgot that we talked about Darius Parish. He said the kid is a "flippin giant," but really a giant teddy bear. He said if the kid could get physical that he would be a force and he was suprised he was rated as high as high as he was. He said our staff never really was interested.

If we can pick up Calvin, we'll have 4 guys who could be decent, and given that we really only need 1, we just might be all right in that area.  I can see Calvin and Stewart as difference-makers, Finau providing ok depth, and praying that Crews would stop being a lazy nugget.

Course, like baseball, white people are good offensive lineman, it's science.

Got a 'B' in HS Alegbra
Prince likes to take undersized, fast guys and add to their frame.  Can't see him offering a big guy like Darius...not really a 'Prince' player.  Darius may turn out to be great, who knows, but as of right now I see poor technique in his film.  Looks like he just overpowers the kid blocking him, which he won't be able to get away with in college.  Definitely a project, IMO.

Parish was invited to KSU's summer camp, but he had no interest in attending. Then the KSU coaching staff stopped recruiting him.

He sucks.  I couldn't be happier with that de-commit.  That's all we need, another stiff on campus.

In all seriousness, there is potential there but he sounds like he may have motivational issues which isn't uncommon amongst DT's.  The fact that he's getting stood up by 190 lb OT's has to be concerning though.
