Members of the 'Tard Wichita Illuminati are now stating that it is down to two schools for Harper, and we are not included. Reportedly down to Oregon and Illinois.
Personally, I hope he chooses Illinois because Mizzou plays them each year and we typically get that game on TV. That will give me at least one chance every year for the next five years to say "hmmmmm, Harper still isn't a D1 starter at QB."
Losing Harper will have the same impact as Nick Patterson not making it to KSU. The program will go down hill, but will have NOTHING to do with losing the player....just odd coincidental timing of events.
The worst part about this deal is that all the Wichita talent that observed Chris decommit will also observe us win only 3 games next year....they'll be convinced that Harper made the right decision, and we won't have any argument against that.
Personally, I like Klein and Kassavanoid better than Harper. Seen their film? They're also white, which is a plus.
All in all, I want kids that want to be at K-State and they're not just here because of a coach (Michael Beasley and Dalonte Hill and Mitch Richmond and Dana Altman and Jeff Kelly and Brent Venables excluded).
The program survived in 03' when we signed Dylan Meier instead of Vince Young and Dennis Dixon. We'll survive this. One player really doesn't make that much or a difference and stars don't matter.
