Members of the 'Tard Wichita Illuminati are now stating that it is down to two schools for Harper, and we are not included.  Reportedly down to Oregon and Illinois.

Personally, I hope he chooses Illinois because Mizzou plays them each year and we typically get that game on TV.  That will give me at least one chance every year for the next five years to say "hmmmmm, Harper still isn't a D1 starter at QB."

Losing Harper will have the same impact as Nick Patterson not making it to KSU.  The program will go down hill, but will have NOTHING to do with losing the player....just odd coincidental timing of events.

The worst part about this deal is that all the Wichita talent that observed Chris decommit will also observe us win only 3 games next year....they'll be convinced that Harper made the right decision, and we won't have any argument against that.

    Skate on Sister School
Ron needs to have some kind of walk through practice at Harper's HS to get KSU back on his list.

Personally, I like Klein and Kassavanoid better than Harper.  Seen their film?  They're also white, which is a plus.

All in all, I want kids that want to be at K-State and they're not just here because of a coach (Michael Beasley and Dalonte Hill and Mitch Richmond and Dana Altman and Jeff Kelly and Brent Venables excluded).

The program survived in 03' when we signed Dylan Meier instead of Vince Young and Dennis Dixon.  We'll survive this.  One player really doesn't make that much or a difference and stars don't matter.

Along the same 'Tard Illuminati train of thought that we should only want players that want to be at K-State because of K-State and not because of a coach:

Would ku have won the national title in 1988 if Larry Brown hadn't hired a certain truck driver as an assistant coach and Danny Manning would have gone to an elite program instead?

Again, not that one player can make a difference or anything and they probably would have won a national title anyway, but it is something to consider.

The national title team simply would have know as "Scooter Berry and the Miracles".

Anyone that commits to an assistant coach and not the university gets no respect from me (See Beasley for how a real man acts).

Please tell me you are joking. VY led his team to a national title, and Dixon was all but set up to do the same till he got hurt. Dylan Meier did nothing but jack freakin crap while at ksu and the program is currently in shambles. The program did not survive missing out on those two. Harper will do big things for either school since neither ask the qb to pass first. Missing out on him is HUGE.

As much as anything, I was looking forward to a running QB again. I know it wouldn't have been a Snyder offense, but is sure was fun to see a play break down, only to have the QB run for 15-20 yards anyway.

As much as anything it's perception. When you don't land a single player in the kansas top 7 (in a year where you have talent in your own back yard) it looks horrible.

All of this "recruiting disaster" stuff with HS players could have been avoided had Prince just won two of the last four.  Truth be told, I don't think losing Harper is going to affect this team in the next two seasons, which will be the two most important seasons for Prince to show something.  Harper was going to be an offensive role player the next two while about all our problems have been defensive.  If we have a defense next year we will win more games.  All Prince has to do is win games next year and recruiting will take care of itself.  That should be the focus and that comes down to defensive improvement.  So be thankful if Ron can sign some good defensive players.

It's not worth freaking out over losing Harper.  We have a future NFL QB and have some more good ones coming in.  If Harper goes and wins Illinois/Oregon some championships, then I could see being pretty upset.  But if he was a can't miss D1 QB, several other top programs would have offered him to be a QB.
Show me defense.

No sh1t? We weren't even close to winning 2 of the last 4, so don't think we are "close" or anything like that.

this is all garbage. Harper is a stud athlete in the state of kansas, and those types of kids need to come to KSU, and you need to do EVERYTHING to get them here.

Yeah, you do, including winning games.  If you don't win at KSU, you won't bring in stud athletes in or out of state, period.  We need a defense to win games.  Harper wasn't going to help a lick on defense.  He was going to help on offense in a few years.  I'm way more pissed about missing on Brown.  DOD was built on defense and it's the only way we will ever win again.  Harper is a significant loss but it isn't a detrimental loss.  We need to win games.
Show me defense.

Fair enough, I see your point. But recruiting is recruiting. If you can't land a kid like harper (who's brother and father are GIGANTIC KSU FANS) what makes you think Prince can land defensive studs? Being able to get a stud like Chris Harper in your 3rd recruiting class is a luxury the coach at kansas state has, that the coach at kansas doesn't. It's a shame our coach can't seal the deal, and it's a huge red flag.

You've been awfully whiny lately.
I'm telling you, this is not ANYTHING like the team from the beginning of conference play. You will see no more blowouts like what happened in OOC.  If we lose, it will not because these kids gave up, and it will be at the buzzer. -Rodless, before 97-70

Hey, 1950 called it wants its racist comments and bigoted attitude back.  You are either an moron or you were trying to make a joke that didn't come across right.
It's not like K-state owes any of it's success to black quarterbacks.

I like Klien too, and i think Harper may be overrated, but i also am not making stupid comments; keep it to yourself.
