I'm quite astounded we just leap-frogged OU in the BCS. That's stupid. Seriously. That's stupid. What the frack. They just killed A&M. I love my boys, but that's just stupid.

Ladies and Gentlemen may I present you with the ONLY ku fan on this board with any sense at all. Hawkish, I take my hat off to you - I appreciate you candor and honest look at this year. I agree, your defense is stellar - Hiccups? Sure, but you all have pulled it out in the end every time. I would be concerned with a few things:

1. In a few of kus games, the D looked a little lacsidasical at the end - still won though.

2. It appears that the offense might be getting figured out. They just dont seem to be as "high powered" as they did early. BTW, beating NUB like you did is = to beating Miami, FSU etc as this year, NU is just a name of a team that used to be good.

We'll see.

I don't know what to make of the game. 14 of those points were garbage based on a short route that just got botched. We killed ourselves on that. The game could have read 150 yards less on passing if Hester hadn't blown coverage on a couple of big plays, and our safety didn't get caught sucked in on a dumb hb flat pass. BUT, that being said - I was impressed by our defense's energy going into the closing moments of the game both at Colorado and at A&M.

Prevent defense is the biggest joke because it places the opposing offense in a decent position where a 15 yard pass can blow up to a TD or 30 yard monster gains for other chippy scores. Our front 4 on the D-line astound me to no end in all honesty. Those guys are studs. I'll miss MacClinton next year, but our true freshmen DEs are going to be studs. Laptad will be an All-American.

Maybe Hester will play like he's not a moron here the next few weeks (over commit on a route or failing to pick up the HB in the flat!) and make a play.

Also, our LBs need to learn to wrap up it doesn't always work to hit the opposing player REALLY REALLY hard.

We have some asians in the armor, but I'm pretty pleased with the players for the most part. Our D-line is the best thing because we can 4 man rush and still throw pressure on the QB. :D

BTW, Dezmon Briscoe had 3 TD's on Saturday.

ku doesn't have a linebacker as good as LaMark.

At least in '98 during our run we played ranked teams...and they were still ranked towards the end of the year.

LOL.  You still want to argue that K-State has a better group of receivers than Kansas?

sure.
It is a tragedy because now, we have at least an extra month without Cat football until next year. I hate wasting my life away but I can hardly wait until next year.

Good times for Cap, he's probably had to buy a case of 5w-30.

In conference play that says a hell of a lot more about you than it does us.

Mizzou and OU will be ranked.  :-*

BMW, poking fun at a player like Lamar Brown is kinda dumb - he's a true FR, he will dominate, but he (like Freeman) and MANY of kus players need a little adjustment time.

Briscoe is a true Freshman as well.  He also leads ku in touchdown receptions.

*A GREAT RUMBLING OF BASS AND MUCH SHAKING*
This thread is not important. Does anyone know what Kansas and Kansas State's debate teams are ranked, respectively? This is the real question that needs to be answered.

Irrelevant. With a reciever like Jordy, what is the point in forcing Lamark to develop? What they are doing with Lamark is interesting - real game experience a few plays at a time...

This ku team is exactly like the '95 team. Unbeaten until they played a good team and then got rolled by us (yes, we were once really good for the majority of ku fans who just started following college football this October) and nebraska. Simply put, ku has not beat a very good team this season.

But they have beaten the hell out of some crappy teams which is something we couldn't do this week.

What a depressing weekend.  Good thing I have A. Peterson and Brees on my fantasy team.

So you have another offensive weapon at WR, maybe?  Briscoe is getting real game experience as well.  Lots of it.  And having success.  Not so much with LaMark.

Hey, I am not saying that I agree with it - I have never developed anything, but a disgust for Big 12 officials - so the development of a WR at this level is something that I know nothing about. Oh we have other weapons, but if Jordy is going to be the majority of our offense - we cant afford the extra time needed to develop players. If Jordy is a .44 Magnum - Gonzo is a pellet gun, that is the perspective IMO. Jordy is that freaking good.

One other thing that ku has done repeatedly this year - stop other teams on the Defensive side of the ball... our defensive effort this year would be like throwing a sponge into the Hurricane Katrina flood areas, sure - it will stop SOMETHING, but the majority just keeps on getting by. Had we sacrificed time from Jordy to concentrate on Lamark - we wouldn't be a .500 team right now. We have no choice but to play Jordy - A LOT.
