You can't be racist and like basketball.
"Aqib will take away Jordy, no one else for KSU is good"
"Bill Young blah"
"I like ku's big play ability"
"You got lucky on special teams"

Painful.

What the heck?  I guess I missed the memo where we are playing USC's offense this week.

I understand confidence in your team, but those folks are delusional.

The most telling post on the thread, and from of their more "knowledgable" posters.

I like how special teams and turnovers are not part of the game except if ku has a good return and causes turnovers...then and only then are those relevant part of a football game.  Otherwise, they are flukes and Mack is a terrible coach.  Oh, and winning on the road (no matter the opponent) is apparently easy.

Go ahead and put Talib on Jordy...and watch Deon Murphy scorch y'all all game long.  He can't cover both of them.  Break out game for Deon...I can feel it.

And how Texas "doesn't gameplan", but those extremely smart ku coaches do.  Give me a break.

How can you not &@#%ing get it? Can you not read? Jayhox's posts alone make it worthwhile. The denial and myopia on that board has reached comical levels. I'd seriously like to know the ratio of KSU:MU talk. Yet, we're the insignificant farmers in their eyes.

it's not an excuse for lack of knowledge but 90 percent of those guys have only followed college football closely since 2003 no matter what they say.

It's also funny that they completely discount Turnovers and special team play.  They are trashing texas and discounting this win bc texas turned the ball over 3 times while harping just the opposite last year after tehy beat us.

The key to game will be how well KSU's coaching staff reacts to ku trying to stop all the stuff that KSU has being doing to date.

But I do have to laugh at all the JCCC-L fans trying to act like turnovers and special teams are just some series of fluke plays.

I saw a post by Rusty earlier that said "I smell a lengthy attic-remodel coming in the near future" or something to that effect.  Gold.

Yeah, UT really sucks and doesn't gameplan and special teams are flukes, even thought UT hadn't allowed a punt return TD since 1999.

This is the biggest game of the Mangino era . . . no amount of denial from JCCC-L fans is going to change that reality.

"OMG COLT MCCOY IS SO HORRIBLE!"

despite ignoring the fact that colt was perfect on his first 6 or so passes until we totally like got in his head.  is it just me or did colt throw some nice passes only to be broken up by our stellar secondary?

I guess they are just stupid beyond the point of being funny to me.  I've followed links over there, but never been tempted to post.  I guess, to me, it would be like saying "I got next" at a special olympics basketball game.

I enjoy that it wasn't KSU's gameplan that had anything to do with it at all...nor the attention to all 3 phases of the game...nor the ability to realize when facing a midget QB to get your hands in the air...but I guess it is tough to game plan for getting punched in the mouth.

Our special teams play was horrible in '04 and '05...IIRC we probably could have won a couple of games (ku and ATM) had we just not fielded punts the entire game.   Yet, we put an emphasis on this facet of the game and it's now a fluke.

While K-State leads the nation in punt returns, ku leads the nation in kick-off returns.  Both could make for an interesting game this Saturday. - AustinHawk

ku - 73.8 yds/game in KO returns
KSU - 85.5 yds/game

..but neither leads the nation. KSU is 72 and ku ranks 89.  :chirp:http://www.cfbstats.com/2007/leader/national/team/offense/split01/category05/sort02.html

He was right about punt returns though, we have a 95.3 yds/game average.

That's fine...as long as you don't disappear for the rest of the season if we lose Saturday. Remodeling, anyone?

Yeah, Jayhox was getting smacked down by his "own" after the Texas game.

It was surreal after Auburn won Saturday night, it's like the collective brainshare of Phog.net went back to the drawing board.

His injury last year was why we won.

Yes, that led to NJ and hox collaborating on the "Mack = Roy" post.

According to them, KSU didn't do anything on offense except for one drive.   There may be a little credence to that based on a couple of KSU possessions in that game.   However, you can tell they have virtually no experience as fans watching their team beat a team with POTENTIAL mega talent.   When you get a lead on the road in the heart of the beast, it's all about managing the game and not letting the other team back into it . . . from that perspective I thought KSU's coaching staff did an excellent job, and when KSU really needed to stick a knife into Texas and finish them off they did.
