When all else fails, question my devotion to ku athletics.

What has failed? Our recruiting class last year looked better than yours and our recruiting class this year will probably turn out just as good as yours. The only thing I said (which didn't fail) was that it was pretty f*cking pathetic that Little was taken bowling on his official visit. If he was a big time recruit (the ones ku should be recruiting because they are elite and everything) then I'm pretty sure he would die LOL-ing. It's pretty bad when the ELITE school that is ku has to fall back on JUCO kids because all of the legit high school talent has realized that Self can't coach for sh*t.

I wish I knew where to start... but first I just want to know when you morphed into such a hateful douchebag.

1.  Julian Wright, Sherron Collins, and Cole Aldrich took Mario Little bowling one night for some good clean fun.  Little played high school and AAU ball with Julian and Sherron.

2.  Little got the royal treatment this weekend and had dinner at Self's house.  He was clearly blown away on his visit and has hinted that he might not even visit K-State and Illinois.

3.  LOL @ K-State's '08 recruiting class being as good as ku's.

4.  ku needs to sign a Juco player or two to balance the scholarships.  Like I've said, there are at least 6-7 guys who will be leaving this season due to graduation or NBA Draft, and ku is going to have a lot of holes to fill.

5.  If Self can't coach for sh*t, please explain what it takes to be a good coach.  He's one of the only coaches to take three different teams to the Elite Eight and he has owned the Big 12 since arriving at ku.  Frank Martin would be a good example of "can't coach for sh*t."
LOL @ the royal treatment being dinner with the Selfs and bowling with the guys that like to shave cool designs into their hair. Call me a hateful douche bag but it's not my fault that your entire basketball team is made up of exactly that....douche bags.

You have one overrated four star that is plummeting in the rankings that didn't even want to attend ku. He's attending ku because his mother is making him. He sucks in games with legit competition and when they won't let him just hang out behind the arc and shoot it. Anytime a team plays legitimate defense on him he folds and doesn't do well. He hasn't done well in his regular high school games that often and that's against sub-par competition. While we're most likely going to land Witherspoon, a guy that could end up being a 5 star before all is said and done.

You have no idea if Martin can coach, you dumbass. Nothing is available to suggest otherwise, unless you want to check out his high school days where he routinely owned the Miami area [a feat that's not much different than owning the Big XII (a football conference)]. I have tons of supporting evidence that suggests Self can't coach. How about how often he chokes in the tournament? How about the UCLA game last year? How about the time he's been outcoached by guys that coach teams like Oral Roberts and URI? He's been winning on talent and talent alone for some time. Tell me two players that have legitimately improved their stock over the time that they've had Self as a coach (when it was his doing). You can't. After the past two years of recruiting it looks like kids are finally catching on to what we all knew...that Self can't coach for sh*t.

Little visits:

1.  ku 9/8
2.  KSU 9/15
3.  Illinois 9/29
4.  TBD
5.  TBD

Sounds like Little might indeed "cancel" the last two on that list.

Let's see at ku he got to hang out with a first round draft pick, and they went bowling and to a football game.  at kstate he will get to hang out with a probable first round draft pick and they can go write on things with markers.

Let's have some rational thinking here.  ku was his first visit and he was impressed. 18-20 year old kids are almost always impressed with every visit they make. They don't get to eat a good steak, meet head coaches. or have a pickup game with players they have watched on TV every day. Certainly ku has the credentials to impress beyond the average school.

Still, as time passes the thrill of the visit diminishes somewhat. Further, why not go eat another good steak and have more fun? (Maybe we can treat him to a game of miniature golf!)

If he has good advisors, or if he has any sense, he will probably take more visits.  In this particular case, I think there is a pretty good chance he will visit K-State. Why?  We have had commitments from this junior college two years in a row (Hannah, Dubovitsky), neither of whom made it to Manhattan. His coach, Heier, knows that Martin knows a lot of people in Miami and can help direct Miami kids to Chipola.  My guess is Heier will do the best he can to get him to visit us, and probably Illinois also.

If he doesn't make the visit to Manhattan and signs with ku, we move on. There are other similar players in the juco ranks.

I think you're thinking of Willie Warren, who has ku 2nd, behind Oklahoma and tied with Texas.

J'Mison Morgan is best friends with Darrell Arthur and attends the same high school.  He has visited ku on multiple occasions and has hinted that ku is the team to beat in the past.  I have no idea who his leader is at the moment, but ku has a definite advantage with Arthur on our side.

no, i mean morgan.  i'm going off baylorfans rumors.  sure those people are delusional drewlaid drinkers, but drew seems to have a comparable effect on a fair number of recruits.

You're so off it's not even funny.  Travis Releford is ranked #27 in the RSCI, the only objective ranking system out there.  He put up 28 points on Jrue Holiday, a top five guard prospect.  Also, let's not forget he had an offer from K-State.  So there goes your entire argument.

ku is gaining ground on Witherspoon and will conduct an in-home visit on Tuesday or Thursday.  At some point you'll just have to realize that when ku and K-State are competing for a recruit, ku is going to win that battle 90% of the time.

LOL @ your temper tantrum about how Martin has proven himself at the high school level and Self can't coach because he lost to a back-to-back Final Four team in the Elite Eight.  How do you explain what he did at Tulsa with average talent?  This should be good.
As Rusty has already pointed out for you...Releford will plummet once the RSCI updates their rankings. Chances are that he had a good Summer on the AAU circuit, got a lot of attention and now is falling down the rankings. It happens to kids all of the time. Herb Pope comes to mind.

He put 28 points up on another guard? Wow. In what, another AAU game? I'm going to guess that not much defense was played. Like I already said, if you let Releford hang out at the top of the key and give him room then he's going to smoke you. But the minute you play close on him and play defense then he is screwed because he has nothing else. I've seen it personally and I've read it in several articles about the kid.

And it's funny that all of a sudden if K-State offers a recruit it means the kid is good. So, where's all of that talk about Colon being an all-star? How about Gilbert? No? It's pretty obvious how far ku basketball has fallen.

We've already had an in-home visit with Witherspoon. We were the first school to do so. ku has come in too late with Witherspoon. He isn't the type of kid that's enamored with the big schools. It's going to be between us and George Washington (because his brother plays there). He likes that we've been with him since the beginning, we were one of his first offers (good coaches see a kids potential and recruit that kid, they don't just go look at some recruiting rankings). ku doesn't have a prayer with Witherspoon. And just to remind you, we beat you guys out for Sutton last year.

I'll show you a temper tantrum if you want to see one. Go check out the Litter Box and read the thread titled "BMW", I bet you get a laugh. My favorite quote, "Bookcat must be an anorexic cum swallowing faggot since he's so skinny, I don't go to the rec with fags!" I still can't believe you're too blind to recognize Self's choke jobs. I guess the UCLA defense made your team miss all of those layups? It's funny that you dodged my question about players that have improved under Self.

Releford put up 28 on RSCI #2 overall prospect Jrue Holiday.  Holiday is one of the best defenders in the country.  No joke.

Obviously K-State has offered some pretty bad players in the past.  However, I wouldn't include Releford in that same category.  Put your bias aside for one minute and tell me that K-State wouldn't love to have the #27 overall player in '08 right about now.

As for the missed layups vs. UCLA, are you really blaming that on Coach Self?
