Yes, generally when two players are compared head to head they play similar positions.  You would never see Jason Kidd compared to Kevin Garnett, or Isaiah Thomas compared to Kareem Abdul Jabar.  They are asked to do completely different things for the teams they are on and therefore it is not feasible to compare them head to head.  Anyone who fails to realize this has a very low bbiq and probably has never had a girlfriend.
