I'm not saying that Coffman is better or that he will take the job.  It is the fact that this possibility has been completely disregarded by the coaching staff to the point that there is absolutely no possibility of Josh Freeman feeling any heat that I have a problem with.

In my opinion, Josh Freeman has been handled way too much like a finely groomed and fancy show dog for us to expect him to fight like a pit bull.*

*Sorry, I realize that given recent events, QB's and pit bulls in the same analogy is a bit strange.

Are you in on the meetings with the coaches?

I'd be worried about our coaches if they seriously were thinking about using Coffman right now in anything other than scrub minutes.

Backup quarterbacks are always the fans favorite player.

Freeman is much, much better than Coffman.  It's not close.  Realize this.  Accept this.  Stop thinking about the spring game because it meant absolutely nothing.

Yep, that conditioning test was made easy for him.  And, of course, Prince didn't release the PUP list when he was on it.  And you won't believe this, Prince actually lit in to JF pretty hard after the first int last night.  But you're right he's handle like a finely groomed dhow dog.  Which explains why after Aleana almost got him decapitated last week, Prince said all in alll Aleana had a good first game.  And you probably call yourself a Cat fan! :curse:

j.free could walk into rons office, take a 'power of one' dump on his desk, and still start on saturday.

And Prince would have Coffman clean it up.

Perhaps I'm over simplifying this issue.  But in order for Freeman to lose the starting job, he would have to give us a lower probability of winning than one of his backups.

That said, I think Josh's starting job is secure...for better and worse.

If Reesing were a Wildcat, we wouldn't have these concerns.

I'm sorry if my opinion bothers you.  A 2 to 1 INT to TD ratio bothers me.  The fact that we have built our team around a player responsible for a 2 to 1 INT to TD ratio kind of bothers me a little as well.  But hey, we beat Texas last year and almost beat Auburn a couple weeks ago, so I guess it's all good.

In terms of Prince and the pup list situation, give me a fracking break!  That was the most token discipline of a player that I have ever seen!  "Oops Joshy, you're on my no-no listy thing."  Alasena DID play a good game.  He had a few breakdowns at the end of the game that cost us dearly, but overall you have to say he played well for his first D1 game in front of 87,000 fans.  (87,000 fans that Josh decided to antagonize by telling them to get louder, therefore making his offensive linemen's jobs considerably harder.  How smart is that?)

Pardon me if I expect more from a player as physically talented as Josh.  It's time for him to play the part, not just look the part.

Freeman would have to be pretty bad to be benched and he should be if he is.  To me in this offense that would be throwing for around 50% and a couple INTs per game.  But this year he hasn't even been close to horrible IMO.  He's had some bad moments, like the first INT last week, but I don't see anything yet that would warrant bringing a RSFR off the bench (that was originally slated to greyshirt) that barely played last fall b/c he was hurt.

I am envious of TT fans (Harrell), UT fans (McCoy), ku fans (Reesing), UM fans (Daniels), and OU fans (Bradford) with their young QBs who get to watch more TDs than TOs.

That must be awesome.

McCoy (B12 freshman of the year) has more TO's than TD's.

And Harrell is a redshirt junior.

"There is a QB capable of pushing Josh that Prince won't give an honest shot to.  "

there have been alot of qb's on your team that could have pushed him but wre not allowed to.  a promise is a promise afterall.

Colt career TDs?  Or even last year?  Come on man, you're better than that.  Colt is 32 and 11 for his career, and 3 and 4 this year.   Josh is 7 and 19 for the career, and 1 and 4 this year.  Do you honestly think Josh will finish was as many TDs as picks?

Plus, Harrell as a Sophmore wasn't too shabby (4K yards) last year.

Also, you didn't mention anything about Daniels, who was 28-10 as a true sophmore.  Reesing is 6-0 this year, and 3-3 last year.  Nevermind about Bradford.

at the rate josh is going he'll throw for "(4K yards)" this year, and he's no redshirt player!
