What is the point of everyone "running towards the pile to celebrate" after the tackle is made? I saw this in numerous other videos as well.

I laughed when Prince got on the 2 guys (don't know who they were) for not participating in the dog pile.

I thought the whole dog pile thing was kinda funny.  Whatever it takes i guess.

I think one of them was Justin McKinney.

I loved CU's coach saying he jumped out of a plane for the football team.

And that the archer seeks to become the bow.

Beautiful stuff.

I like the dog pile thing.  After the last couple of season, we need to do everything possible to encourage tackling.

I think the dogpile thing is a direct response to the past couple years.  Whether the former staff meant to do it or not, based on comments we've seen from many players, football at K-State had become so business-like that it wasn't "fun" anymore and that was only emphasized even more with each loss.  This is a direct move to remind these guys that ultimately football is supposed to be fun.  Sure, you need to work hard and you need to be accountable to play your position correctly, but at the end of the day if kids aren't having fun playing the game then you aren't going to get the most out of them.  Also builds team unity, in this case it was showing unity for the defense and by getting on those guys that weren't being a part he was essentually telling them you are part of this team, you may as well enjoy the highs together just as you go through the lows together.  Football is a game that requires a lot of emotion and this is just a little thing that can be done to try to emphasize that.

I had a coach that tried to get some fake enthusiasm going when someone made a nice play.

We went 1-8 that year.

Wow, Hard to believe that you played for a team with an attitude/enthusiasm problem.

It was my helmet sawed in half and mounted to a piece of wood.  Next time I'm at Mom's, I'll take a pic for all to enjoy.

    The very best.
It is a tragedy because now, we have at least an extra month without Cat football until next year. I hate wasting my life away but I can hardly wait until next year.

I too was "most inspirational" player in basketball my Senior year of high school.  I had the pleasure of sitting on the bench behind a guy who was 1st team All-State.

I did however send Chris Piper's stuff out of my house ... twice.

That, and throwing the Javelin with Okie State's own Garth Brooks may be the  highlights of my life ...

Hey man, I was a MIP who actually played. Not one of those "I warm the bench but I have a good attitude about it!" MIP's.  ;)

For a 1-8 team, that's outstanding.
