Sam Adams kicked me in the nads last night and I can't believe I was posting on here.   My wife is laughing at me right now.   Did I really call into the Sound Off show or whatever it was?  I'm sure one of you characters recorded it.  I'm not sure I want to hear it.   Although I don't have a hangover (not sure why), I am still pissed about the game.

Two things are apparent.  First is, to go on the road and play at Auburn against all that talent and literally dominate that game up until the end where we crashed hard at the end, was amazing.   In the end, despite Freeman's injury in the third and him trying to will a win, K-State dominated by putting up a better offense.   I question not letting Coffman go out there and giving it a shot with Freeman so injured.  Letting him play like that is not good, although Mack Brown let Vince Young play in 2003 against us injured..late..   :frown:   I get why Prince let Freeman stay in it, but I think that's not the best thing to happen.

This team showed they can hang with anyone and they have fight to want to bring it all the time.  Auburn couldn't get going and the only reason they scored the TD was because of costly penalties helping their drive.  Playing with such zeal is a great way to start the season.

If I were anyone on that team, I would extremely upset.  Walker missed the TE sneaking into the end zone.   Bad calls are part of the game, but you could tell they were good enough to shake them off until they made  a stupid penalty later on.  That last drive shouldn't have happened for Auburn, and they know it.  At least the Cats are trying to win the game which is the character of this team.   First game of the season and almost pulling out a road win against a Top 20 team of that caliber says a lot.   I don't think anyone expected K-State to win it.. I don't think K-Staters thought we could keep it that close.   What it shows is, no one had any expectations, and the team has literally given us expectations for them for the rest of the season.   They expected to win this game and the rest.  They showed they have the capability.  They need to finish these games.

I'm not happy about this loss.  This was our game and we should have won it.   It's early in the season, but we definitely show signs of being in this thing.   Our offensive line is going to stink around good defenses, but they played well enough they only got one sack on Freeman.   They had a much more talented offensive line, and we gave them hell.

I'm still sticking to my 11-1 prediction and an appearance in the Big 12 Championship game.  If anything, I think this team has shown us, it's going to be a wild year.

Don't worry, mj.  It was highly entertaining, but not in a bad way.

Good thoughts on the game.  Let's hope we can fix those mental breakdowns, because it looks like we've got the physical tools to play with anyone.

Keller passed very well yesterday, considering it was his first live game in nearly two years. The TE throw to McNeill was an absolute gem. When Purify gets back he's going to look that much better. The bottom line with defending Nebraska is you better have some animals up front to stop the run. Because if you can't...long day.

I think by the time KSU and Nebraska play, we'll find out for sure if Keller is even around.

History suggests Keller will be out of it by game 7.

Do you think Freeman will make it to November?? Probably not a good sign when your starting QB is hobbling around like Peg Leg Pete in the first game.

Yeah, he will because he'll heal quickly.   Keller would leave with that kind of injury.  Not too many QB's can do what Freeman (or Roberson) can do and still play and beat teams.
