Seeing as some of you classy bastages work at Sprint, i'd think maybe some of you had some knowledge of the products.  I'm thinking of a Sanyo Katana DLX.  My last couple of phones have been Sanyos and i've liked them.

I want something that supports video/tv, high speed browsing (EVDO, I guess?) and GPS.  Side-note, has anyone used GPS w/ their phones? Does it work well?

TIA

I've got a Katana and no complaints.  easy to use, and it's big enough that I feel like I'm talking into an actual telephone and not a tiny piece of plastic.

that new Katana DLX is very cool, i was just talking to a coworker about it this afternoon. EVDO enabled (broadband) which will support your GPS.  Note that if you plan on using GPS you can use it with a free program like Google Earth or something similar but i dont know if G Earth is supported by the OS of the Katana, some people will bluetooth their evdo/gps to a gps receiver like a TomTom that they put on their car dash.  just google it and you  can find more info.  i can ask a chick i know in handset marketing how the Katana DLX is doing from a return standpoint tomorrow at the office and tell you if it's a piece of crap or not.

Cheesy Mustache QB might make an appearance.

New warning: Don't get in a fight with someone who doesn't even need to bother to buy ink.

Sorry to leach off your thread, but, my Samsung crapped out and they tried to give me a Razr.  I yelled until they gave up (I was making a scene ala me in kindergarten!  I don't brag usually but I pretty much shut down the store) and gave me an LG Muziq.  Does it suck?  I want to put a micro SD card in and load a bunch of music.  It feels flimsy though.  Is it sucky?  I still get the full trade in value ($150) in 6 months and want something good.  Is it worth keeping this new thing they gave me or should I pay to upgrade?

I have a Krzr. Muy bueno, IMO. The MP3 player on it is pretty sweet.

Does it have a micro SD card slot?  I just got mine.  What do those cards cost and how much memory can you get?  Why the Spanish?  The only thing I know is:  Donde esta la cerveza?  It's gotten me through two spring breaks.

TeleNav works on the Katana that you're looking at. It's $9.99 a month and you sign up through their website- TeleNav
Talked to my friend - she said they are good phones, the best in terms of reliability.  Not sure where in T-Town you are but Sprint's EVDO service only really covers within the city limits, it's spotty outside of that, just something to keep in mind.

It looks like sprint has their own navigation software (not telenav)

http://navigation.sprint.com/snweb/
Although it looks like the same thing. Maybe it is?  It says it's 9.99 a mo but I think that may be included if you get the power vision ultimate pack.

i think it's the same software that TeleNav uses, and ya it's included in the Power Vision Navigation Pack ($19.99/mo) w/ unlimited data.

Sanyo DLX = excellence.

Telenav is pretty slick.  Works pretty well w/ directions, i'll try it out tonight (driving to Wichita, LOL!)

TV quality is pretty good.  I like that you can watch live TV on alot of channels.  I'll probably watch alot of TV at work now. I'll try the music portion of it later.

Yes, it has a micro slot. They cost about 30 bucks. I believe mine is a 2mb.

Big time lol's at people who use Sprint.  Any company that cancels over a thousand customer's lines because they called into customer support too much can lick my balls.

LOL@YOU!

I never call customer support, so I don't have to worry about them canceling my service.   :fatty:

Sorry I didn't see this thread earlier, but you made a good call. The DLX is the phone I recommended to my family when they hopped on my F&F plan. Solid design and specs.

The Muziq is...okay.

And yes, Sprint Navigation is powered by TeleNav.
