“He needs to make an impact as a returner,” coach Norv Turner said. “Then there is a place to use him in some other areas.”General Manager A.J. Smith took Sproles in the fourth round in '05 and likes him still. But he pointed out the obvious inclusion of Tomlinson and Turner, as well as backup fullback Andrew Pinnock, whose future is at running back. Also, there is Tyronne Gross, who spent last year on the practice squad and is seen as having a future here.“If you don't have LT and Michael Turner and Andrew Pinnock we might be talking about a different role with the Chargers for Darren,” Smith said. “As it is, it's going to be a very interesting camp on the return game.”Sproles acknowledged there is urgency to his situation this camp but said, “I can't worry about all that. I just got to do me.”
