I'm new to this "alcohol" thing, and one aspect struck me. Why in the hell do you effectively drink, when you pretty much always have to drive?

It is a tragedy because now, we have at least an extra month without Cat football until next year. I hate wasting my life away but I can hardly wait until next year.

I never really do, either. I probably would have stayed up north last night if I hadn't stopped drinking sooner.

'Tis a bad idea. Plus my father was a State Trooper and would probably kill me. Or at least not let me have my football ticket when I go home for a game.

Never.  I did a couple times in college when i was living across from Durland but I realized how dumb it was and haven't since.  I could handle killing myself but damn me if I ever were to hurt or kill someone else while I was drunk.  Not worth it.

Cheesy Mustache QB might make an appearance.

well in manhattan you certainly don't have to drive everywhere..

I pretty much just decide beforehand if im going to crash at wherever im drinking or if im gonna be walking home.. if neither of those is an option and I have to drive I just don't drink hardly anything ( like a beer or two).

And define "drunk".

QFT, I have a wife (I am only 27 so don't call me old balls yet please  :ohno:) to drive me when I am "DRUNK"  but I drive a lot "drunk".  When I was younger and "stupider" I did field sobriety 5 times and got let go every time.  I would have busted my dumb ass every time if I had been the officer doing the test.  I will go to the bar to eat and have, say, five beers and drive without thinking twice.  I will not, however, go to the bar and drive home after having 12 or more beers/drinks/shots whatever.  Driving drunk is not a thing to laugh at but I do laugh at myself for my past transgressions (sp?).

I did way more than I should have when i was 18-22.  I'm 25 now and make sure to cut myself off early enough to sober up.  I usually also stick pretty close to home.

If you're too drunk to drive, you'll know it.

All the time actually, but not when I'm like blacked out/puking.  Worst was when I had to beg myself not to pass out on the wheel while my friend (also driving drunk) followed me to make sure I didn't hit anything.  But I never have to drive very far, usually less than 3 miles (Woodway/UC/Wildcat village to around Cico), and I take backroads and crap.  I'd never do that on a highway or anything over 45 mph, you know, when lives are at risk.

Fatty do you drink now?  I remember on message boards you said you didn't or something like that.

I'm from Manhattan, so I'm here for the summer.  At ku we have BADD duty so there's always a ride when I need it.

I always had a rule of not driving for atleast 2 hours after 3-5 beers; 3 hours after 6-8 beers; 4 hours after 9-? beers; and I usually lost count after that and walked home.
