    The very best.
It is a tragedy because now, we have at least an extra month without Cat football until next year. I hate wasting my life away but I can hardly wait until next year.

Questioning Mangino's recruiting b/c he's had no NFL draft picks.

There's some good quotes on there:

Quote
What seniors off of next years team will get drafted.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Quote
Cornish.

He already has a spot in the CFL when he's done at ku.....

You are clueless if you think Mangino hasn't improved recruiting at ku.

If Cornish has a good season he most likely would get drafted. Kemp could get drafted at Safety. Washington could be huge next year if healthy. We don't have a lot of Seniors next year so you're not going to win that argument there either. Nice try though.

Quote
Mangino is billed as a great talent evaluator and according to the official web site a, "dynamic recruiter." Dynamic recruiters don't get shut out in the draft going into year 5.

Quote
If you don't see that the overall team talent is up and that just having guys being projected every year is better than what TA did for us then you're just going to have to keep doubting everything. The talent is up and Mangino just landed a pretty dang good class this last season.

Quote
What Mangino has done is the equivalent of taking a Div 1AA school and getting them to Div 1A status when he took over. It was that bad for him with what Mr. Booger left him.

Quote
That is a myth that ku fans tell themselves to make our success seem better.

Quote
Some of you guys are confusing coaching and production to talent. Some of you guys are blind.
  :shy:

Quote
In TA's last year he had Nate Dwyer and Justin Hartwig get drafted. Algie Atkinson, Andrew Davison and Jamarei Bryant sign free agent contracts. That is more than D1AA talent or whatever the comment was made earlier.

Quote
We're still about a year or two away from producing NFL draft picks on a consistent basis. A two month recruiting period followed by a 2-10 season is hard to overcome. But MM has done it with his last two recruiting classes.

Quote
The players are in the program now, they just aren't Seniors yet (the HS recruits anyway). The program is about to take off, just watch and see. If you're dissapointed about MM not recruiting NFL talent in '02 or '03, then I got nothing for you. You just suffer from unrealistic expectations.

With apologies to FHCJW, from that thread it sounds like Mangino is ku's Jim Wooldridge.

Check out his profile.  He has posted that on several scout sites, including the Chiefs, Lakers, Cowboys, Saints...

It's hilarious.

Sorry, guys. It looks like I made a mistake. ManhattanKATfan is legit. I got him confused with another KATPAK dealer. It is perfectly safe to get your Jayhawk KATPAKs (a must have item for tailgating) from him. My bad, ManhattanKATfan.

Chum...briilliant!

If TA would have coached those guys that got drafted until their senior years would they have gotten drafted? I say no. Mangino deserves plenty of credit and it's clear to see the talent level is up.
