Looks like it is official.  KL is going to transfer.  He sited that the change in staff and wanting to be closer to home as his reasons for leaving.

Good Luck Kevin.

I have no idea if this is good or bad.

I don't see how it is good at all, however I don't see how it is that bad.  We still have 4 capable QB's.

It's good in that it makes it easier in terms of recruiting and establishing a QB.   Lopina didn't HAVE to go, but by doing so, he helps KSU.

It's bad because I think Lopina has the potential to be a great QB and this staff can help him with the NFL connections.   He'd be a great contributor.

I agree it is both.  Hopefully Freeman will live up to his potential and be a starting QB for 3 years.  However if JF takes a while to develop, it would have been nice to see KL battle with AE in 07 and 08.

Since we have 4 capable QBs still on the roster, this is a spot that we can afford to lose someone.  QB, WR, and RB all have better good depth.

    The very best.
It is a tragedy because now, we have at least an extra month without Cat football until next year. I hate wasting my life away but I can hardly wait until next year.

    THE b IS NOT CAPITALIZED
  He'd be a great contributor.

To what? warming the bench?
I'm telling you, this is not ANYTHING like the team from the beginning of conference play. You will see no more blowouts like what happened in OOC.  If we lose, it will not because these kids gave up, and it will be at the buzzer. -Rodless, before 97-70

Explain what you mean that this is not good.

The kid is going to be good. Why would a good QB leaving our program be a positive thing?

There is no doubt he is going to be good, but how much better is he going to be than what we have on the roster?   He's not going to surpass anyone, much less Freeman.  I think Lopina has the skills but there are too many people at the QB position.

The only positive I see from this is the coaches abilty to focus more on the QB's we still have... Also extra reps for some guys with 1st team offense.  I always hate seeing talent go somewhere else, but focusing your time coaching 4 guys is easier than coaching 5.

Also, extra scholarship?  :)

I heartily disagree. Even about Freeman. I think Lopina had just as much chance to succeed as Freeman has. You guys need to quit acting like Freeman is already a stud. As of right now, he's nothing, just like Lopina was.

Freeman did a better job in the Spring game than Lopina did, and they've all had the chance to work off the same point because of a new system.   I don't think Lopina was as bad as he played, but that's where it counts, in the game.
