It is a tragedy because now, we have at least an extra month without Cat football until next year. I hate wasting my life away but I can hardly wait until next year.

Adds new meaning to the Kansas State Penitentiary

I think it's going to be maximum security

Seriously, why don't they put it in the parking lot by waters hall? (<---do you know what spot I'm talking about)

This garage is on the outskirts of campus, and blocks the view of the union from Anderson. Ugh.

btw, Lol@power outage today.

I wouldn't say outskirts of campus...sure it's not the middle of campus but the union is pretty much the outskirts of campus as well.  If they build a parking garage, why not have it so that students can use it for school, not for people coming to go bowling?

Remember, there is a crap load of buildings around that parking lot within about 2 blocks that have huge lecture halls.  I'd like this idea 10x better than in front of the union.

honestly, I can care less about the front view of the union.  However, it doesn't particularly look good when the first thing you see when you get to campus is a giant parking garage (that would be twice as high as all the buildings around it).

Agreed; Parking Garage should be in the existing parking lot across the street from Goodnow, and give residents the top deck for parking or something. .

I wonder how much better the student/parking space ratio is at KSU than the average for similarly sized schools.  Four times better?  Five times?  Ten?

OT but I  :love:our football gameday parking.  I hate entrusting my car to some dirtbag's lawn for $20 bucks at some away games.

Does the lot by old stadium ever fill up?  I used to walk through it all the time.  I don't remember it ever being close to completely full.

No. Funny thing is, that lot is as close to campus as where they want to build the garage. Tards.

They want the garage to serve as parking for McCain and the Union. It's not going to benefit students a whole lot.

Wow, they sure aren't portraying it like that.

Of course they aren't. And who knows...maybe they actually believe the benefit to students is enough.

Hence why the students aren't in favor of the jail.

Want to hear something really funny?   WSU students complain about parking.  Because they might have to walk 100 yards or so to class.

They were overwhelmingly in favor of a garage in principle, but when the word spread about the number of slots it would actually add (read: not many), support began to freefall.

If it has to cover up a building though, I'm glad it's the Union. Ugly sucker.

as ugly as the union is, waters hall is worse. And the union is good to see because it serves as the gateway to the university. When an outsider sees the union he/she knows that the campus is right by.

You've got a point there (about serving as a gateway). Why don't we bulldoze Bluemont and put the garage there?
