I think it's fair to say that as he got older, he surrounded himself with older people who had his philosophy, but not necessarily the same zeal.
Two different era's, but the thing to remember that Snyder did something no one else could do, and that's put KSU on the scene. We were woefully bad and in danger of dropping to Div-IAA in football.
