fwiw, unless it's a football field I'm not sure why this thread ended up on this board.

Cheesy Mustache QB might make an appearance.

Are you referring to the old Bomber's bar that burned down?

My god, how many years has it been empty?  The Aggieville business association should be ashamed.

It should be our basketball HOF connecting with Bramlage.

Since '98 I think.

EDIT:  Doesn't/Didn't Rusty (former owner of Rusty's Last Chance) own it?

'98 sounds right.

The day after it happened, the wiry little Greek who lived across from me looked shiftier than usual.  He related that he had been in Aggieville the night before; more specifically, he had been in the alley behind that building, relieving himself in the general vicinity of some electrical equipment, less than an hour before the fire.

He was prone to exaggeration (if not outright fiction), but I always wondered.  Did they ever determine the cause of the fire?

yeah, i had heard rumors of a spangles going there a year or so ago. i don't think it could be a taco bell considering they are building one behind walmart. who knows, lets just hope its something worthwhile. that lot is huge, and easily could be used for 3 bars. i couldn't believe how long it stayed empty. just made aggieville look incomplete.

what was the name of the little pizza place that was right next door, that also burned down?  I remember we were in CO snowboarding when my roommate called and told us the place burned down. We didn't believe him at first.

Thats what I heard too and that its vacant for so long because he didn't want competition going in there.  It seems like shortly after it burned former baseball coach, Mike Clark, was going to put a putt putt course there and it fell through.

good thing.. that would have been just dumb to put a putt putt course in there. it would have been destroyed in a matter of a week.

This is what I had always heard as well.

Who knows what happened since Clark left.  Never knew who owned it after that point.

Obviously if it was going to be a mini-golf course it would of had to be fenced in with razor wire.

Was it Greeks?  Pyramid?  One of those two I think.  Greeks was really good.  I remember the putt putt course rumor.  That would have sucked hard.  Bombers had just gotten bought by someone and was getting changed to some other bar when it burned.  Bombers was pretty much the worst place in aggieville.  It was basically Silverados  :yuck:

Club Carrington/Karrington, something.

and ah Yes, it was Greeks.  We had one here in Hutch too, but they closed it and turned it into a pet store.
