It was like 31-0 at the end of the first quarter.

I even think PETA complained about that massacre.

It was so unfair what KSU did to ku that day.

I think ku fans seriously thought about giving up football for good.

To think - if we had tried to RUTS it would have been much worse.   :yuck:

Ok I laughed.

But if there were a billion pictures from the 64-0 game, it'd be a lot funnier.

It was 64-0 by the beginning of the fourth quarter.  How do you escape with any dignity from a beating like that?

No matter how hard they tried to spin it, you couldn't help but feel a little sorry for them after the game.

The sad truth is, ku will never experience anything like that in football.

    The very best.
it was 31-0 after the 1st quarter, 43-0 at half. 64-0 wih 3 minutes left in he 3r quarter.

At halftime when they put up the stats, everyone LOLed when we saw KSU had more 1st downs than ku had total yards.

No fan should have to see their team blown out like that. Unreal stuff.
It is a tragedy because now, we have at least an extra month without Cat football until next year. I hate wasting my life away but I can hardly wait until next year.

Yes, KSU was horribly bad back then.

But, if you review the record books, you'll see that the period between 1997 and 2003, The average score was KSU 50, ku 8.

Nothing was as brutal in the history as that period of time was.

During the 11 year streak, the average score was KSU 45 ku 10.

I mean.. incredibly, brutal to have to go onto the field with that KSU team and realize that not only were you going to lose, but KSU was going to score at least 6 TD's on you before the fourth quarter.

God, how I miss those teams.

I remember seeing this hit live.
A KSU player tried to extend a hand to help Wegner up but by that time his head had fallen back and he was unconscious.
Also heard his finger went through his facemask shredding it to the bone.

I remember sneaking out of work and turning on the radio in my car and thought I heard it wrong.  Nope, it was definitely 64-0 in the 3rd quarter.   :dancin:

And in case you forgot what the scoreboard looked like..........

There is no good answer for that question.

Wonder what we used the timeout for. Probably trying to give the ku D a bit of a breather.

I don't think that is true.  IIRC one year they scored a TD but failed a 2 point conversion.

The last ku touchdown in Manhattan was 10/09/1999.  In the three trips since, they've managed five field goals.

ku has not lined up for an extra point in KSU stadium since 1997.

The Squawks got beat 50-9 in in 1999.  3 FG and no TD.

ku did get 2 TD in 1997, but they failed to get one in 93 and the almighty 95' chickens put up one big bad TD.

I can't remember how ku got their pts in the 16-12 loss in 1991.

Bottom line is ku recently has had all kinds of problems crossing the goalline in Manhattan
