2-Douglas is not an athlete. His vertical and squat are laughable. This is a head scratcher b/c he doesn't fit the mold of a Prince OL. I have seen him play twice and he is nothing other than big and kind of a chubby big, not strong big. He is not fast. I don't remember the kid's name but there is another rather big fella from Bashor that is probably the better prospect. He is around 6-4 and is a wonderful athlete, impressive on the football field and basketball court.

one thing I have learned is that I couldn't scout talent worth jacksquat and I'm quite certain you wouldn't know it if you saw it either.
I watched one kid a few years back and he did absolutely nothing in a game...and I mean nothing. He put me to sleep...a year later he started as a true freshman for a Big 12 team that went to the Big 12 title game.
Another kid I watched about 6 years ago was absolutely pathetic..by his redshirt freshman year he was starting for OU.
Bottom line is YOU and I don't know what to look for in a prospect. Oh, I'm sure you think you do just as I did but found out I didn't know squat.
And LOL at the "he isn't an athlete because vertical"...are you f'ing kidding me? He's what, 16 or 17 years of age and weighs over 280lbs. He's nowhere close to being fully developed.
Hell...here are just three OL recruits offered by Texas last year alone...
Trey Allen - 23.5" (signed Texas - rivals 100..considered GREAT athlete)
Jared Gooch - 18" (signed w/ TTech)
Kyle Hix - 21.5" (signed Texas)
Thanks for the tips. I'm not suggesting he's a great athlete...he doesn't need to be...read some of those scouting reports by the NFL sometime on NFL draft prospects. Not even OL considered for NFL are even good athletes. But they are agile enough, tough enough, and possess certain skills necessary to do certain things along the line.
And he doesn't "fit" the mold of a Prince OL? He's tall, has long arms...what else? Do you think all of these Prince OL @ Virginia ran a 4.9 and vertical 30"? He had some bulky kids at Virginia that were probably 5.5 in the 40. And? And this kid will likely be a guard. Don't think D'Brickashaw for this kid..think more along the lines of the LG who started for him in 2005. A 6-7 330lb kid named Brandon Albert. Not very athletic, quick, explosive etc. but very tall, long, big, and had good feet and agility. Don't need to be a good or great athlete to have good feet and agility and get the job done.
FYI, know a guy who worked the KSU camp (they have hundreds of high school coaches there)...thought highly of Douglas. Called him anything but chubby.....not a great athlete but certainly can be a player at this level.
