hicks is pretty much the king. cross gets a little too politcal sometimes, but for the most part he is genius, but i liked his portrayal as Tobias Bluthe better than his stand up.
I respect your opinion but completely disagree. The genius of Cross on Arrested Development is that most of his dialogue was improved on the show, and for the most part, was the only cast member allowed to do so.
His standup is brilliant because you rarely ever see the punchline coming. I suppose if you don't have the same venom for pop culture and the American political landscape, I guess you wouldn't find his material that entertaining. I find Hicks to be my favorite but Cross is getting better as he releases more material.
If you don't find this funny, I'm not sure what's wrong with you: http://youtube.com/watch?v=B2QqrvSryQA

oh i completely agree on most of those points. i own both "Its Not Funny," and "Shut up, you &*$@!ing baby" and i find them completely hillarious, but i don't like it when people get absolutely wrapped up in political comments. i don't care if they are right or left political biases, or whatever, it just gets boring after more than a few minutes of it. that is why i liked his character on arrested development, because he created it. he was brilliant in it, and his ability really showed in his character development. its not that i don't like cross, i think he is hillarious, but he has a few time where he just goes on a rant about political stuff. which, is very predictable regardless of how you do it. just my opinion.

*also, Mr.Show was amazing.

I can see that. I don't identify with all of his political leanings, but his passion and desire for change comes through. This is some of the best common sense I've heard: http://youtube.com/watch?v=DD0Ec_6F0TM&mode=related&search=

I like Daniel Tosh, but I don't watch much stand up.

He came to K-State last year for some UPC thing, and there were probably like 12 people there, either way he killed it.

I think the funniest stand-ups to see in person are the ones you've never heard of from television or whatever major media source.  Once they reach a certain level of success, they seem to try to appeal to wider audiences and lose their edge as a result.

there were two of those gallaghers. there was leo and ron.

which brings to questions, which pair of gallaghers were more comedically fulfilling?

Leo and Ron Gallagher

or

Liam and Noel Gallagher of Oasis....

my bets on the brits.

Hands down, Robin Williams.  Gaffigan is real damn funny though, "You never feel good after eating a hot pocket....did i eat it....or did i smear it all over my face?".  If u find a Canadian Indian (forehead dot Indian) that can imitate the Indian accent very well and tell racist jokes funny, then Russel Peters is the man.

what the hell are you talking about? i know his dvd is good stuff, thats why i put him up there. notice the "absolutely genius" part. his humor is completely different than most and completely original. he is one of my favorite comedians. i'm just confused by the whole QFT thing. dumb.

It's things like that that define cubs. You better quit learning all of the hidden quirks of the board or you'll soon find yourself as a junior wildcat..

good point... don't tell me anything more. although i still don't know what MCMW means. i think if i hold on to that void of knowledge i should be able to remain a cub for quite a while.

That will work.
