And I am also sure that you won't be using non-AT&T cards in the device, but that wasn't the issue at hand.  The issue at hand was using your valid AT&T/iPhone SIM card in some other phone while you were having your battery serviced.

you missed the point.  my point is i dont think he will be able to swap his iphone sim card into a non-iphone because i think apple engineers made it so that the iphone sim card will only fit in iphone.

My guess is that they accomplished the same task within the device's firmware instead.  Maybe that's why you have to activate the phone from iTunes instead of in the store.

It is possible they went with proprietary cards, of course, given their history and tendencies.  I just think that would be a miserable idea, especially overseas.

waks did you get one?  I had two brought in today at the store.  Our FedEx driver let me play with his.  It's the coolest phone I've ever seen.  I'll probably get one next summer.  My guess is that Apple will announce the second generation iPhone in January at MacWorld with a release in June again.  I'll have a terrible time waiting that long however.

No. I stepped back and realized that they will be completely different in a year. I feel sorry for the people that still have the 1st generation iPods. There is a huge difference. It would have been cool to have one but I just can't bring myself to pay $600 dollars for a phone that will be ten times better in a year. I got the KRZR instead. Only holds 40 songs..

Oh, I got the KRZR for free. I wouldn't ever pay for a phone that is unless it was the second coming of Christ (iPhone). It does what I want it to. Plays music, calls people, takes crapty pictures. That's all I really need in a phone. And it looks cool!!!
