You're way too good to stay a college beatwriter for another year. My prediction is that this time next year you will have a higher profile job with a bigger paycheck.

It sucks. We either have beatwriters that are horrible, "Ok" but rarely pump out much worth reading, or amazing that end up getting hired away to better jobs. I feel like a Wichita State fan right now.

jmart...if you have any footage of you on 8mm, VHS or DVD please mail them in so we can make a tribute video. there will be no charge to change it from black and white to color.

Goddamn i'll never forget that. I asked three different players, all told me "don't worry, he's stayin' " with Patz being one of them. He didn't even tell them until right before he left.

The same message was sent to all of them. It was "How'd the meeting go? Is he staying or going?"

Differently worded responses, but all of them included two key phrases:
"Don't worry"
"He's staying"

The only other information is that the meeting was short, they're going to have another one later after Huggs talks with the K-state administration, and that the assistant coaches were not present.

Keep the names quiet or die.
