And some guy named Snyder. FWIW, I was never a Hudson basher. The guy (and Snyder) knew exactly what he was doing; QB run game + option + power running game + vertical passing game is extremely tough to defend. Who cares if it was "predictable". (which it wasn't nearly as predictable as some wanted to believe.)
not to short change snyder, but the offense got much, much, much more explosive after hudson took over. the chad may offense was impressive, but not in the same league as what hudson did.
the only thing that i thought was predictable was the audible. and it's true that the delay of games were excessive. i was anti-hudson for about a week, then i looked at how consistently the offense was racking up sick yardage and 40 point games, and realized that hudson knew more about what he was doing than i ever would.
even when the perfect storm of suckage hit the offense in 2001, we still averaged 400 yards and 30 points a game. at the time, it was brutal to watch, but looking back i'm not sure how he got that kind of production out of that unit.
