I hope we have some actual WR - Jordy is a TE.  He doesn't run his routes crisp enough to be a true WR.

Nothing against Jordy - he is good but, we need a James Terry or a Lockett out there as WR.

- Jordy is a TE.

If he's a tight end then not only are we in trouble but so is he.  Destruction awaits him in the running game if he's asked to block a linebacker.  Toooooooo small.

I don't know about his routes, but Jordy has the best hands on the team...by far.

From the sounds of it, if Gonzo and Wilson are starters with Jordy(in 3 wide sets) Freeman will have a very hard time finding anyone.  Hopefully Murphy, Pierce and Brown make immediate impacts.

He'd have a horrible time finding anyone if we don't have a consistant run threat.

We're gonna be hurtin next year at WR if one of the new guys doesn't step in and contribute consistently.
Jordy is the best we have, but Gonzo and Wilson aren't that good.
We have the RB's to have a consistent run game, but it's going to depend on how well that awesome O-Line performs.

you guys are underrating jordy. remember this, he was hurt almost ALL last year, and he still produced. he flat out makes plays. him and marcus watts are straight up ballers when it comes to making plays. as for the other one or two spots, i wouldnt mind gonzales being in that spot. he has very solid hands and if he can get us those first downs when we need it,we are set. im not too worried about the wr's. its the OL that needs work.

    I miss him ^^
Cedric Wilson showed NO hands during the spring game.

And remember, a healthy Jordy caught a TD pass in 8(?) straight games two years ago.  He's a playmaker, plain and simple.

coffman did that in high school.  jordy has proven himself in college.

I'm fairly confident we'll have a run game. Not sure if we can protect soul glo
It is a tragedy because now, we have at least an extra month without Cat football until next year. I hate wasting my life away but I can hardly wait until next year.

7 straight games, his first 7 in fact. he did get one more later on to end up with 8 the whole season though.

i've only seen one practice, but what i saw disturbed me.

jordy being double teamed pretty much took him out of the game, which is understandable.  but ced and dgon only got separation a couple times, and that's when they decided to drop passes.  those two just can't get open against decent coverage.  it was sick watching josh choose between throwing into coverage or taking a sack so many times.

1) We do need one of the new guys to come in and complement Nelson.  Gonzalez appears to me to be the next Brandon Clark and Wilson the next Davin Dennis.  Both will get some snaps this year, but neither are likely difference makers.  We need Brown, Pierce, or Murphy to come in next year and be a legit playmaker opposite Nelson.

2) We've got to continue to utilize our TEs.  All appear to be better, and Norwood and Mastrud could be very good.  Those guys will catch a lot of balls this year as well.

it would be nice to see the te's run more than 5 yards downfield.  it's a lot easier for a lb/s to cover a te when they're more or less not moving.

i didn't see a single pass down the middle for more than 10-15 yards saturday.

They've thrown plenty down the field to TEs in practices.  Saturday was saturday.

    Goomba attack
Jordy Nelson is solid, and he will make plays if given a chance (read: isn't facing double teams on nearly every snap as he was this past Saturday).

I'm thinking the other starting wide out will be.... Ernie Pierce.  Daniel Gonzales will be effective if he is the 4th WR in a 4 WR set and he is the last thing that the defense is thinking about.

Brandon Clark actually wasn't bad when he wasn't injured.

True.  I'm thinking more of post-injury Brian Clark.  I know he battled foot injuries nearly his entire career.

The problem is going to be that all of these new WR's are going to be too good! Since Jordy's too small to play TE, we'll move him to QB and Freeman to TE.

Oh, and Carlos Alsup is coming back for his 7th year and he'll be RB.

If Jordy is healthy, he'll be the best WR on the team.  If he doesn't make all conference, it won't be because he's not good enough.  He's got the speed, (when healthy) size and hands.  As for the other side, I'll say Ced Wilson until we see something from the newcomers.

Hopefully by mid season; L. Brown will be playing a majority of the snaps.
