Joe Hall running most the field only to finally get taken down at the one.

LOL at Joe Hall. Forgot about that guy, but ya know what, he was a pretty dang good RB when he could 1)stay out of trouble, 2) not get winded so dang much

3.  Paul Watson to Andre Coleman against ku in 1991.  SonofDaxJones

Honestly, not many of the new school people know this, but that play might have been the official beginning of the Bill Snyder era at KSU, IMO.  I remember that game, ku was more talented, but KSU hung in there, and in the last 7 minutes of a terrible game, KSU and Bill Snyder outplayed and outcoached ku and Glenn Mason.  The best thing was, if I am not mistaken, the game came down to the last minute and a 4th down play.  Pure KSU magic.

NO WAY to pick just one player, or one play.........sooooooooooo....I will go with ALL of David Allen's punt returns.

Especially 2 years in a row against TEXAS! (2 wins in a row against them too!) Down in Austin, they kick it straight to him......he takes off......arm outstretched.....points to his guys to block these guys over here, goes around the whole mess.......TOUCHDOWN! Watching him was a thing of Beauty. GOD, I miss that!   :crybaby:

That was Jeff Kelly & Travis Litton. I'll never forget it.

Many have been mentioned, here are a few more...

David Allen's punt return (refered to above) versus Texas in Manhattan was one of the better ones.

Kevin Lockett catch and score from Miller to beat Cinci.

Roberson's 90+ run vs NU in 02.

Newman's 2 pt return vs USC in Manhattan.

Dirk Ochs (I think?) slamming the ISU QB on his head in the early mid 90s.

Roberson TD throw from his back vs ASU in the Holiday Bowl.  PI penalty couldn't even stop it.

I completely agree about the momentousness of this play.  Magic.

The play vs ku in 91 was a great one.  That was my first KSU-ku game and I was a JR in HS.  The game was real ugly, but those last 7 minutes were great.  That TD came on a broken play and Watson left the pocket while Coleman somehow got free.

I'm agreeing with a lot of these; and can't think of much more... but does anyone remember Sproles returning a punt in 04... you know the one he didn't fumble... but anyway, both of the gunners were inches away from destroying him as he spun away while he caught the punt over his head?  I know it wasn't a spectacular return; but the spin and catch was pretty awesome.

I'd have to vote for the T-new extra point block and return against USC as one of my fav's.  But just about any play from the '00 NU game would get my vote for #1.

Also, I'll never forget watching Sproles trot out on the field for the first time... watching a seemingly enormous Scobey run to the sidlines compared to this little squirt standing back there, then hearing the entire stadiums jaws drop as he ripped off 20 or so for his first carry.  Pretty awesome.

A few more:

1.  Kevin Lockett's long TD run after a short pass against BYU in the Cotton Bowl.

2.  Roosevelt Duncan returning a punt on a beautiful cutback run for a TD against CU in 1978.

3.  Darrel Dickey hitting the TE on a middle streak pattern (Damn I can picture the play but I can't remember the name of the TE) against ku in 1983 for a TD.

I was at the Missouri game  when Bogue threw that pass for a tie if I remember right.  But wasn't that in 82 and on a fourth and about 30 from the 31.  That guy wasn't the best QB we had but damn he had a gun for an arm.

Yes it was '82, I was off by a year, Darrel Dickey was the QB in '83.  Doug Bogue had a good arm, and that's about it.

Maybe you remember when James Witherspoon ran a punt  back for a TD only to have it called back due an offside penalty
so whoever punted again and he ran it back also but it too got called back.  I beleive it was 81 or 82 but not sure.

Ted Sims pick 6 in the '03 Big XII title game.  I never really felt safe until that happened.
"Kids used to hit him and stab him with pencils," says Harley Bennett, Jason's father. "Finally I told him he had to stick up for himself. Jason is not a violent person. One day he hit one of the kids back and got suspended."

Nyle Wiren was the one who bodyslammed the Isu QB.

My top 10 ---
1) Sproles 60 yd TD reception vs OU in 2003
2) D Allen 93 yd punt return vs UT in 1998
3) Blocked punt vs OU in 2000, Newman scoops it up and scores
4) K Lockett one hand catch from Chad May vs CU in 1993
5) Newman PAT return vs USC 2002
6) J Terry hitch and go for 63 yds against the Fuskers 2003 (also vs OU 2003)
7) Chris Canty scooping up a blocked punt and going 45 yds for a TD vs CU 1995
8) A Coleman 69 yd punt return in Copper Bowl 1993
9) Roberson 91 yd TD run vs NU 2003
10) Throwback screen to Swift in the fiesta bowl 1997

Travis Ochs' "tackle" of Eric Crouch in 1998....haha still cracks me up!!!  :loly:

but other than that...my favorites have to be the James Terry hitch and go against NU in 2003, T-New's blocked XP against USC, Sproles' huge run against ASU in the holiday bowl when he did a complete 360 spin on a dime, the Roberson to Sproles 60 yd TD pass against OU, and the classic Beasley to Morgan winning touchdown in the snow!

My favorite would have to be the Darren Sproles run against USC.  I'm talking about the one where three defenders had him absolutely surrounded in the backfield, Sproles does a spin move and just runs around all three guys.

Simoneaus pick 6 against UT in Austin was pretty awesome.

To beat the rich, arrogant Texans!  Some more good ones:

1)  Long TD pass from Beasley to Morgan vs Tennessee in the Cotton Bowl.  You know the one I mean.

2)  Jon McGraw's long pick 6 vs Colorado in 2000.  Him, Simoneau, and Sproles are my three favorite players of all time.

3.  Paul Watson to Andre Coleman against ku in 1991.

That was THE play that will always stand out to me.  Watson was in serious trouble and (IMO) he lofted it up for grabs.  The crowd was silent and the ball wobbled into the hands of Andre Coleman who went in for the score.  That game had been so frustrating.

As my memory goes, KSU had to fight off a last minute drive that went inside the KSU 15 yard line, with the two final plays being passes that fell incomplete in the end zone.

That truly was the turning point in the Snyder era.

Concerning that 1991 game:

Wasn't that the game where a reporter (name escapes me) asked Snyder in the post game PC,What it felt like to "Win a game (paraphrasing) they didn't really deserve (to win)". Wichita reporter?

I just remember reading that Snyder absolutely stoned the guy by saying : "YOU go in that locker room, and tell those players they didn't deserve it (to win)".

Dax?  Do you remember something to that effect?
