*A GREAT RUMBLING OF BASS AND MUCH SHAKING*
This is f*cked up beyond all belief. Here's a post from the VT scout board:

"Pretty much everyone I know on campus lives in that dorm.  This is nerve-wracking to say the least.  My roommate's cousin said it happened down the hall from her room and they had a silencer."

A SILENCER?! Who the &@#% is that depraved to do such a thing?

We all know there's been a conspiracy. Only the failures have been recorded.
We all pay too much attention to Icarus, and not enough to his father.

Meh... according to Rusty this is a non-issue and not that big of a deal.  Move along, nothing to see here.

    PRIMETIME LEAGUE ALL-STAR
Makes you think.

You just never know what the day has in store for you when you wake up in the morning.

I couldn't imagine sitting in class taking notes and some jackoff walks in with a gun and starts spraying.  It just makes me sick.

Which antiquated first person shooter will they try to pin this one on?  I'm thinking Counterstrike this time around.  DOOM is played.

    The very best.
It is a tragedy because now, we have at least an extra month without Cat football until next year. I hate wasting my life away but I can hardly wait until next year.

The worst of all the deaths:

Liviu Librescu, 76, was a Holocaust survivor, who his son said, will be remembered as a hero. He "blocked the doorway with his body and asked the students to flee," Joe Librescu told AP. "Students started opening windows and jumping out." The elder Librescu, a professor at Virginia Tech, was recognized internationally for his research in aeronautical engineering, the head of the Engineering Science and Mechanics Department at Virginia Tech told AP. He was born and received his advanced degrees in Romania.

An old friend of mine lost someone very dear in the VT shootings.

Dr. Kevin P Granata, Professor of Musculoskeletal Biomechanics, heard the gun shots and rushed a class into his office and locked the sturdy door before he went looking for the source of the gunfire. Kevin turned a corner as he climbed down a set a stairs and was not quick enough to avoid the shots fired at him. Kevin suffered three wounds. He died from the third shot fired into his head.

Kevin, age 45, left three young children, Alex, Eric and Ellen and his wife Linda (Ankenman) Granata.

Linda is a sister to my friend and her loss will never be understood or fully accepted. Dale, my friend, actually introduced Kevin to Linda at Purdue University in 1984.

If you feel inclined to give, he asks that a donation to the Kevin P. Granata Memorial Trust, 1872 Pratt Drive Blacksburg, VA 24068. The trust has been set up for the care and education of Kevin's children.

Thanks.
