Michael Beasley is by far the best player. Aggressive, agile and skilled. He is a terror inside but shot the three as well anyone.
Both Goode and Knowles looked good at times. Neither would have stood out if not for the UofL connection. Goode is long, reasonably quick, shot the ball well from various ranges but did only fair in the 3 point contest. Knowles did not have much opportunity to show his stuff. Only fair in three point shooting contest. Neither participated in dunk contest although Goode looked good dunking in warm ups. I am really looking forward to seeing them in game situations.

Beasley is a man among boys.  Took it to the hole and he and Nolan Smith won the two on two easily with three pointers and drives to the hoop.

Based on tonight's performance the two players that were for and away above the rest was Stephon Pettigrew and Mike Beasley.

Despite looking as disinterested as he could possibly be when not playing

Beasley has the goods. Terrific basketball body, he can use either hand on the inside, sweet moves, a better outside shot than I realized. Easily the best player here.

Funny body language though. He just doesn't look like being this good is all that much fun. I doubt a year in Manhattan(sic) Kansas will make his smile much brighter either. Mark him as an almost certain one and done player.

Beasley was simply the best player there. In the semis of the two-on-two, he and Anthony Randolph were challenging each other pretty hard and trash talking. For the last basket, Beasley waved for Nolan Smith to leave the floor and Smith went and sat in the bleachers. Basley went to the baseline, was double teamed, and turned and swished about an 8 foot jumper. He simply thought he was going to win every time and he did.

Basley went to the baseline, was double teamed, and turned and swished about an 8 foot jumper. He simply thought he was going to win every time and he did.

Beasley, teaming with fellow McDonald's All American Nolan Smith, won the two-on-two competition. He also had the highest-scoring round in the three-point shooting preliminaries to advance to tonight's finals, and he's one of four finalists for the dunk contest.

Count U of L forward Derrick Caracter was impressed. He attended the skills competition with fellow Cardinals Earl Clark, Brandon Jenkins and Andre McGee.

"He's tough, he's tough," Caracter said of Beasley. "He's definitely going to make an impact in college basketball next year."

Recruiting analyst Clark Francis of the Louisville-based Hoop Scoop called Beasley "a man among boys," but he rates UCLA signee Kevin Love as the top player in the class.

"I think Beasley is in the top five, but I rate him No. 6 because I want to make him earn it," Francis said. "He has a tendency to play not as hard as he could with his talent level, but his talent is unbelievable."

People don't understand that Beasley doesn't have to play hard to the #1 player in the nation.
